Inspira ? Noooooooooooooo.. The CVT gearbox is horrendous with constant buzzing sound at normal acceleration 2,750rpm all the way.. that said, interior environment never feel serene and quiet at all when its on motion..

You're correct about Ford, but still its an alternative choice of cheaper Brand compare to VW which Ford still produce quality products..

Mazda 3 is out from the list because of its tight interior space..

All comes to the end which I've decided to pick the Forte. I'm loving it until today despite some nit-picking small issues which I've mentioned in previous posts. And then the KIA brand is not as desirable which doesn't make me feel very "proud" during ownership compare with a "Toyota" ring logo showing on my face at the steering wheel airbag cover..

Added on August 19, 2012, 11:32 pmNo comment of instant fuel drop at idling.. mine doesn't happen at all even idling for 30 minutes..
Seatbelt warning lights, door light is non-functional/dummy look, just a gimmick.

Added on August 19, 2012, 11:35 pmYea bro.. that reminds me of my friend's Proton Wira 1.3 fuel gauge cluster which is identical to our Forte.. hehe

Added on August 19, 2012, 11:40 pmSeat belt indicator is just a gimmick and non-functional for Malaysia CKD Forte..
the seat belt warning light on 5 seconds indicator after engine started is just bcoz of the instrument cluster's behaviour during car start-up..
Plus we do not get the Voice Command feature for Malaysian market.. is it because most Malaysians cannot speak or spell proper words in English ?  sweat.gif

Oh.. I never did autofoam before.. my friend's feedback was the car has noticable difference in handling and stability.. road noise and outdoor noise vastly reduced..

Been driving Inspira & forte, plus CVT gearbox is not as bad as you said. I don't think there is any buzzing sound, each and every car when you accelerate, engine sound will be slightly higher, same goes to forte.

Inspire power good &
Handling good after you take away ori rim & tyres
Power wise 1.6 Forte (totally under power, deep regret buying 1.6 but still love the car) better go for 2.0 forte
NVH = Forte is better than inspira << this i agree.

Cheers

That should be normal especially when the radiator fan is operating..for sure it will suck in air & rain water during driving..i will clean my engine bay once in every 3-4 months of driving.

Any tips how to clean it? I use water with fibre cloth to clean it but the dirty mark still there after dry. After that I mix with some car shampoo but the result no much different.

Here at Alor Setar, i send my car for steam wash (no chemical or car shampoo are used) to clean the engine bay. It produce fairly good result in cleaning all the dirt. But the price is fairly high also tongue.gif Since that i just clean (steam wash) the engine bay once in 3-4 month & the end result is good, for me it's worth the price of RM20 for steam washing the engine bay only. Steam wash the engine is safer for the engine coz it does not use the water jet, it use steam jet/spray instead which is better..the fine & hot steam jet will easily loosen the sticky dirt from the engine bay.

Previously, i did clean it by myself using the same method as u, but the result is as what u said tongue.gif

Yupp..for 10k km service, change oil only + engine oil filter + oil plug which is around RM22x for fully syn engine oil

Brake disc corroded is normal..same as other cars

Hi,

Could anyone advise me on the fuel consumption for the Kia Forte?

Cause as I heard from my mechanic, it is a petrol eater car compare to other brand like Toyota Vois, Honda City and even Proton.

Could anyone pls advise me on that Or let me know what is your current fuel consumption?

Thanks

FC depends on your right leg and driving conditions. Forte won't be as fuel efficient as vios as toyota has spent lots of money refining the engine and they've been using it for so so many years..still 4 speed..forte is using new 6 speed gearbox, engine wise (for FC) not as efficient as toyota or even nissan, but don't forget - forte = C segment, toyota vios = B segment...forte is the cheapest non-national sedan car that comes with stability control (ESP, TC, etc)..whereas vios has none...vios only has BA and ABS/EBD..but those are not as useful as ESP..

If u really want good FC car just get vios/viva...forget forte..expect your FC to be around 8-11L/100KM average, again this is depends on your right leg and driving conditions, it can be as low as 6-7L/100KM too if you're on highway most of the time...

People keep comparing Forte with Vios & City which is unfair comparison in the first place. Forte is C-segment car which is bigger & heavier than the B-segment Vios or City. Like i said so many times before, if let say Vios & City is having the same weight & size with Forte & wearing the heavier 17" rims, i strongly believe that Vios & City FC will not be as good as we think of...
