my lovely forte kena hit by neighbor on last Saturday, causing dents at fender and front passenger door around 3-4 50cents coin size; luckily no paint drop.

What will be the costs to repair the dent?
*
there is a places called chip away. The restore dent w/o need to repaint..can't recall where but you can google.

Yes, manufacturing defect. No QC.. Alignment issue between hood and fender.. Can be fixed. Ask SC to "kiau" the hood and fender into place.
*
Don't mislead, misallignment is NOT the same as manufacturing defect vmad.gif

Guys, need help here.

I want to buy forte but I don't know 1.6sx or 2.0sx. The price difference between 2 models is RM12,000.

For my case, I have a newborn coming soon. My colleague told me leather seat a must if got baby to prevent milk spilt on cushion etc. the pricing for 1.6sx cushion seat upgrade to fully leather seats is RM2200.

He added 2.0 FC much lower than 1.6 because if the car is fully occupied, the 1.6 like lack of power keep dragging end up the engine burn more oil.

Please advise me for the 1.6 or 2.0.

Thank you very much all the sifu biggrin.gif
*
Simple answer. If your financially OK then just 2.0 (ensure you also ok with the roadtax) icon_rolleyes.gif

Its you can feel the scratch with finger mean its already pased the clear coat and, no point polish, you will only thinner the paint

It should be done ASAP. Coating basically protects your clear coat and also it's basically maintanence free.. You won't need to wax anymore.. Just wash and wipe dry.
*
that's wrong. With coating applied, you need SPECIAL care and Wash else your quoting won't last long.

My bad... Use the correct items to wash your car and also preferbly the 2 bucket system, Wash from top to bottom, Old Microfiber cloth for rims and tyres, etc... Wash own car is the best...
*
Aside from washing technique, the maker also recommend you to use their shampoo which usually PH neutral and won't goes 'against' the coating protection - which allow maximum durability

QUOTE(bennedict82 @ Sep 4 2012, 10:56 PM)
Really? I thought coating will make us easier to wash out the dirts and easy for maintenance.

If we get scratch on coating later, possible to repair the coating?
*
Coating has no 'repair'..only REDO ( usually whole car ) , never hear ppl said redo just 1 door BUT wax anytime and where)

Haha...depend WHICH type of coating you going to pay for, some claim for glass coating which making the surface HARDER to scratch but doesn't mean it will NOT get scratch at all, then if your washing technique is no good then swirl still come back...

Swirl not same as scratch (alot dunno that). Also when talk about watermark, upto today whatever super coating out there will STILL get watermark no to mention with Malaysia climate + acid rain...

So think about it, you wanna pay 1-2K to 'coat' your ride and you think 1-2 years no need wash or wax or can cincai wash or wax ?? - am sure most of ppl here are daily use car and 50% park open air overnight ??

Or

Prefer old skool, enjoy wash and waxing ( there is alot good wax out there ), u just need to top-up and if you really got take care the wax can last till 6-9 months....

Use soft 99 can remove the car coating? it is not just a wax meh??? Then how to protect the coating?

Then what kind of wax is the best?
*
There are polish, wax and 2 in 1 (polish and wax)

Talk about care detailing there is 101 thing can talk.

Say polish, to layman only 1 type of polish but there are way more like polish that work only with machine, or hand or hand and machine..there are mild polisher, aggressive polish (usually need use machine)

Polisher is just like sandpaper...more aggressive the polisher, the 'rougher' it goes and to layman the easier i remote 'dirt' but the side effect also more terror....

Wax there are carnauba and synthethic wax. Carnauba based wax won't last long with our climate (mainly acid rain), synthethic would last longer.

If you want easy job and wanna DIY .

Get this 2 product.

Colorx - paint cleaner with mild polish - should be around Rm65+- now

Wax - M16 (give you wet gloss) should be around Rm80+- now

Ya. This is what happen to me. Everytime after rain go back home i have to wipe it with cloth. Of cos not using soap just plain water. My dad always say " Cheh new car, see how long you can maintain this". And need to polish few times a year. I had a bro work at a famous car wash in malaysia so I can get free polish thats why I never worried... tongue.gif

But white car really more sui leh. Look around you, damm lots of white car.
*
Why ppl always complaint white car is harder to take care compare to dark colour ? I've been owned a white car for more than 12 years previous (until July this year), it way easier to take care compare to dark colour car.

The car was parked outdoor (live in flat ma) for around 10 years, day and night expose to sunlight, dust, acid rain....till the moment i sold the car ppl still don't believe the paint was that old..tot o i just respray years back...

Washing with water is just like u bathing w/o soap, how do you expect to be clean (especially after heavy down pour), you need to have a good shampoo which have decent cleaning power YET do not strip off your protection layer that FAST.

Instead keep 'polishing' few times a year, i would top up wax averagely 3-6 months depend on the protection layer....

Getting good protect. having good technique is one thing, knowing HOW to utalise the product is ANOTHER THING !

Most of ppl will pour kao kao wax or polisher thinking that the 'more' the longer it last....totally wrong wrong wrong mindset, waste of product - again same like your bathing soap....

Mine is 8km. I questioned the SA and he told me the KIA factory did the drive test before deliver. I dont believe that.
I know some of them will send for car wash or wax.

But if you asked for free bodykit, coating, tinted, or any modification, then this should be normal as they have to take your car to accessories shop.
This is how bodykit being install....image supplied by a friend recently had very bad service from this dealer.

Brought my car to SC to fix dashboard and seatbelt adjuster zzz noise, they opened up my door panel instead and also the seatbelt adjuster. They stick some insulation foam, now the seatbelt adjuster dun make noise as frequent, but at certain road and point it will still buzz, and now my door seems to make some noise already also. Previously no noise one, I dunno why they opened up the door panel. And my dashboard got to make appointment and probably leave my car there for them to check. Aiyo how la, I just want somewhat a quieter car. Really cannot tahan if never on radio or music le.

Anyone got better solution? Maybe I should try bigger SC like the glenmarie one or Red Cube?

Lesson is that the more you open the part there is a chance the more loosen the part is.
