the proton frames should not be using downtube shift levers... so they should not require the shifter boss converter kit for STI levers as far as i know... so, not sure which part your bike shop is referring to...

maybe take a pic of the offending problem and post it up...

it'll be darn funny if this thing is still needed in this day and age...

tat or it broke off.. if it broke off... god help you..
no ascent is un-nuts... as long as it heads up... it's a suffer fest...
thanks buddy!

I found this Proton T-Sprint frame exactly like my brother unit.

I look carefully on the downtube, the cable stop on downtube looks much similar like the STI conversion kit u showed.

Right?

On Sunday, mental have prepare for the Broga loop. but somehow, i felt my legs and muscles are not ready.

My group splited into 2 groups after Titi breakfast. 1 continue Broga loop and 1 back to bt 14.

The best ever preparation for Broga loop is expect nothing, know nothing just like i did on my virgin broga loop with Team magnum. i thought 120KM, normal ride. whose know later found out riding Broga loop...

start 7.30am at Billion, and back around 1pm plus.

have fun....

http://tinyurl.com/96f928o

you know, instead of riding bt 18 twice, u can ride up Sg Tekali road (aka bukit hantu), so you won't get bored riding on the same road again on your way back. plus, you can cut short some mileage.

if u ride alone, bring two tubes with some patches just to be well prepared. if u ride with friends, just one tube and some patches.

don't forget to write a ride report here, ok?

I didnt map out the route. But it was my first time doing bukit tinggi peak. My only concern is the 4km stretch karak highway that i have to enter.

For bukit tinggi there is only one road to enter which is by karak highway right? hmm.gif

expect all hell to break lose on you... no amount tubes, powerbar/gel or steroid can prep you for that...

or at least that is wat i think the time i tried it riding from home... or, maybe i didn't have my dose of EPO the day before rclxub.gif

my pointers... just bring enough money and a fully charged phone... and put supercab on speed dial in case you need one mid-way through the ride and enough money to pay for cab fees...

thought there is a way to take the bentong road to the kampung and then head up from there... don't dare try myself cause it's a long climb back up if cannot...

Let me re-intro to you: Magnic Light !

QUOTE
Magnic Light works with all kinds of metallic rims (normally aluminum, steel or magnesium). While aluminium and magnesium are not magnetic (but paramagnetic) they are conductive. Relative movements of magnets and neighboured conductive material induce eddy currents in the conductive material - in our case the metallic rim. These eddy currents have their own magnetic fields (see Wikipedia) which are absorbed by the Magnic Light generator kernel and by this way produce electric energy. Although there is no friction the absorption of magnetic fields has a minimal braking effect, so we don't get energy for free. Magnic Light contains the most efficient LEDs currently available (CREE XM-L T6) to get maximal light from minimal energy.

this 1 peice of poison light cost as below:

Back light: USD 85
Front light USD 130

Combo of two above: USD 160.
