Thanks for the links Bro.

From MBB Press Release, what I understand is that there is an agreement between them that allows MBB to issue AMEX cards and merchant acquiring (i.e. to get more business for AMEX).

In MBB Press Releases, two AMEX personnel used the word "partnership" and one said "help us to expand our brand franchise" which means AMEX is the Franchisor and Maybank is the Franchisee. Which means also Amex still gets a cut from Maybank's AMEX card operations.

However, since we don't have a copy of the Agreement, we got no idea if the license is renewable or for a specific period and on what grounds AMEX can take back the license.

The other links provided did use the words "buy" and "acquired", but those are kind like a news report where the reporter may not understand in full what is in the Agreement.

And Bro, thanks for correcting us by mentioning "Centurion Head" whereby I mentioned Trojan Head earlier based on WaCKy's Trojan Horse Logo, hahaha.

Does the current EzyPay with 5X TreatsPoints (using Maybankard 2 Visa/MasterCard) gets creditted instantly upon posting of the transaction ?
*
Yeah. It credited to your statement instantly upon transaction.

The TP will also devided equally based on your ezypay months.

For my EzyPay, they credited the total TP on the next day of my transaction.

Then everymonth I pay the installment that credit to my VISA didn't have TP point. sweat.gif

On the 0% EZYPAY, this is the answer I got from maybank when i asked about it some time ago:

For purchase using Maybank 2 American Express card, the 5% Weekend cashback and 5x TP will be credited in the first month itself.

Does the 5% rebate given on the date when ezpay is transacted for the following whole lumpsum amount or does it credit based on the recurring monthly debited date?

While you are not necessarily wrong in your understanding, it is not wrong by definition to use the words buy or acquired. The Amex card business in MY was sold to MBB for USD22m as per the news report and MBB does handle everything in MY with regards to the Amex card business. If you go to Amex MY site, it asks you to contact MBB for all card matters. Of course the Amex trademark and other rights still belongs to Amex which is why it needs to be licensed to MBB. Outsourcing is the wrong term because if the operations was outsourced, Amex will need to pay MBB and not the other way around.

Not your fault per se with the actual name, most people get confused because a trojan head and centurion head are very similar. Do a Google image search and you will be able to see the difference. biggrin.gif

The whole amount for Ezypay is charged in one transaction by the merchant, so your rebate will be based on the transaction date and all normal T&Cs apply.

That's the beauty part of this agreement, AMEX outsource their card operations here in Malaysia and they get paid and not the other way round tongue.gif

Anyway, the Agreement was termed as Business Transfer Agreement and not Sale Agreement.

Haha yeah, just knew from wiki that both were not see each other.eg trojan horse from Troy Bronze Age (1194–1184 BC) while a Centurion just came in during Roman Empire (107 BC)

Note : I once have an Amex Corporate Card provide by my company. But seems it doesn't give any MR point to me so I canceled it. It is from Maybank also.

very angry. just received call from CPP trying to sell me insurance.
clearly maybank is selling data and CPP is buying user data
clear violation of personal data protection act 2010 (PDPA)

call number from CPP kl sentral, 03 22609688

if you get this call, dont hang up. instead, ask for their teamleader/manager miss anna and log a strong protest and threaten to sue.

only this way they learn!

How can you prove contact is from MBB? I think sue is not possible in this case unless you have proof.

Did u tick the box where it goes along the line of "You agree to let Maybank & its partners use your details to be contacted for promo stuff etc" ?

Every CC application form has this. If you ticked this then well, you will get these kinda calls often.
I always look for this sentence and choose that they WON'T contact me for any of these crap.

Exactly ... it's also probably written somewhere in the agreement or t&c which 99.9% of the people don't read ... nothing to be angry about ... for me when I get calls like that .. straight close ..then save the number as zAss1 (z so that it appears at the bottom of my contact tongue.gif) then just block the number

not just untick. i purposely circle it and rewrite it clearly sommore that i wish not to be disturbed.

seriously, enough is enough!

if you get these calls, record down time, date, name and finally ask for their legal counsellor's name. freak them out.
