1. The rebate is calculated according to the CALENDER month.
2. The rebate is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the month.
3. For Principal Cards, the RM50 GST for AMEX is waived, but RM50 GST for Visa/MC remains.
4. For Supplementary cards, RM25 GST is imposed onto each Amex, Visa or MasterCard.
5. The GST will be billed a month or two after you received the card.

8. The weekend rebate capped of RM50/month for the Maybankard 2 Amex is shared between the Principal and Supp cards.

19. This is what is mentioned behind our Maybankard Statement - Foreign Charges converted by AMEX apply a coversion factor of 2.5% to the converted amount plus 0.5% administration cost imposed by Maybank.
20. The Maybankard 2 AMEX earns you 1x TP for every RM charged to your card by default. The rest of the TP is recorded as 4x bonus TP (written as MAYBANKARD 2 AMEX 4X BONUS in your statement), making it a total of 5x TP for all charges made to your MBB2 AMEX.

The 5% Cash Back payout is subjected to POSTING DATE not transaction date. Here's a detail example by ronnie

QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 29 2011, 06:18 PM)
The last weekend for October 2011 is 29th and 30th October.
Only those transactions done on 29th/30th must be posted on or before 31 October 2011 to be part of the October's RM50 rebate calculation.

For PAY PAL with MBB 2 AMEX to earn 5% cash back.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ May 13 2012, 02:15 PM)
Payment through Paypal must be done at 2pm or after 2pm on Saturday (Malaysia) or else the transaction will be recorded as a payment made on Friday. This is because it follow Paypal's USA HQ time. During the months when daylight saving time is observed, you can do it at 1pm or after 1pm on Saturday (Malaysia).

I need to call maybank Amex CS to "unbarred" payment from 1 day up to maximum 1 month in order to proceed with the payment. I asked why need to call CS to make a PayPal payment even though the amount is less than usd10, CS replied this is new security measure.
You guys faced this situation before ?

For Booking Your Hotel Room via Agoda.com with Maybankard Visa/MasterCard versus MBB 2 AMEX

QUOTE(jtcs87 @ Sep 22 2012, 01:53 PM)
I make the booking thru agoda by 15/09/2012 with my AMEX. But the transaction date is listed on 17/9/2012 and posting date is listed on 18/09/2012.
*
Take note, with tcs87's valuable contribution above, we can safely say that agoda only process our transactions on a working day.

And with above together with zenquix's hard work below:

QUOTE(zenquix @ Sep 16 2012, 09:44 PM)
If it is in a different currency the extra 1% forex rate from Amex rate will really make Amex bring in less savings than Visa/MC

1) weekdays (RM)
MBB2 Amex - eff 2.5%
Visa/MC - eff 6.5% (normal). eff 7% (2x pts if considered overseas - plats only)
VI - eff 7% (2x pts), 8.5% (5x if considered overseas)

2) weekends (RM)
MBB2 Amex - eff 7.5%
Visa/MC - eff 6.5% (normal). eff 7% (2x pts if considered overseas - plats only)
VI - eff 7% (2x pts), 8.5% (5x if considered overseas)

3) weekdays (forex)
MBB2 Amex (2.5% forex rate) - eff 0%
Visa/MC (1.25% forex rate) - eff 5.25% (normal). eff 5.75% (2x pts if considered overseas - plats only)
VI (1.25% forex rate)- eff 7.25% (5x overseas)

4) weekends (forex)
MBB2 Amex (2.5% forex rate)- eff 5%
Visa/MC (1.25% forex rate) - eff 5.25% (normal). eff 5.75% (2x pts if considered overseas - plats only)
VI (1.25% forex rate)- eff 7.25% (5x overseas)

So Amex only comes top in one type of transaction vs a normal Visa/MC up to plat level. Assuming MC/Visa 6% discount on Agoda
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 22 2012, 02:26 PM)
Why use AmEx to book through Agoda? You get 6% anytime, any day with Maybank VISA/MasterCard.
That's the risk to book Agoda via AmEx as it sometimes will not process your booking during weekends. If want to book Agoda using AmEx, the better way will be using PayPal which is linked from your AmEx. But you might need to pay for a higher conversion rate.
*
zenquix has shown, even if you use your MBB 2 AMEX on weekends to deposit into paypal, after taking into consideration the AMEX conversion fee/rate for agoda bookings purpose, the Maybank Visa or MasterCard is still the better choice when booking with agoda.

Conclusion - use you Visa or MasterCard when you book direct with agoda.com-maybank promo to get 6% discount.

I agree with Titan-Gunners, all smsbusiness2u does is taruk people who actually contributes to this section, complain, ask questions and asking more questions. Maybe once in a blue moon he does "try" to be helpful by copying other people's work and post in this finance section. And latest joke is at UOB Thread he posted answers to what he wanted to know in another post, so funny. It is so obvious he is after post counts, if not, he's just here to bump up the threads.

It is very annoying as most of the time he has nothing to contribute/share but spamming and making this thread and other threads go to new V faster, hahaha. brotan also annoyed at BT Thread, haha

see for yourself some of his posts/questions recently in this section (too many to go post all, hahaha):
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Even in the Thread where smsbusiness2u is the TS, most of his posts are just asking questions and none of his post there has any value except him complaining he has yet to receive his Bank Islam credit card doh.gif

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Hence, smsbusiness2U should be awarded the title "Need To Be Spoon Fed King" notworthy.gif

And smsbusiness2U was also a top spammer in Credit Card Sub-Section of Finance Section some time back early this year laugh.gif

OT OT OT

I am surprise that we have seniors here willing to "fight" for their rights to use the "Don't Combine Post Option". In the old days, we will get flame left right centre for doing this as it is considered spamming. Then again, sometime ago I highlighted erry was spamming using the "Don't Combine Post Option", but no one said anything about it.

this thread is becoming Sub Section Forum Feedback Helpdesk, and it's all my fault with me mentioning smsbusiness2u as a post count hunter (tactical move here so that he reply and expose himself to his buyers his true character when they check his post profile and lead them to this thread/section. I don't understand why post count hunter sellers would choose to get to my nerves as it will not serve them any good once I go into mission mode to expose them as non genuine contributors).

So I feel is my duty to propose a solution to the "Don't Combine Post Option" thingy argument (not that it is necessary since Mod or Staff or Admin can take whatever action they deemed fit). Anyway, I propose the following:

1. hye to include new rule in CC/DC/LC Forum Terms & Conditions.

2. TS are only allowed to use the "Don't combine post option" for reserving no more than 2 post when they start a new thread.

3. Exception to above, members are allowed to use the "Don't Combine Post" option only after 24 hours like Miles mentioned or maybe even 48 hours.

I did propose early this year we remove the post count in this subsection when smsbusiness2U went on a spamming rampage but some of you guys disagree and no one agreed to my proposal. Since the interception of this subsection, we have had a fair share of spammers who are either sellers or conman wanting to increase post counts to make them seem more "credible". Info relating to credit cards benefits can be easily obtained by visiting the relevant credit card issuers' website or simply calling the CS. And more importantly, many just come here not for discussion but to ask questions (same questions over and over again, e.g. GST) and not really contributing or sharing. Most of the contributors here are mainly regulars from the time when credit card was just a pinned thread at main Finance Section and are here to discuss their passion on credit cards and I would think they could not careless about post count.

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Jul 21 2012, 04:30 PM)
There should be some leeway for people who choose not to combine post when giving long replies after a quote. It's simply for the reason that the second or third quote would be skipped over due to the huge wall of text.
*
He can quote portion of the long quote which he intends to reply and delete the rest - the way MilesAndMore does.

Mod or Staff. Delete above if you think it is necessary and I won't be offended.

If your GST redemption was posted into the AMEX Account, that would mean that your Visa Account will still have an outstanding of RM50. Call CS to clarify and get it rectified if necessary or else you will get late penalty or interest charges for the Visa account.

Oh? But I still don't get the idea. How does it work? Every month the bill will be different depending on how much electricity we use right? I can understand like Unifi or something since every month it's going to be fixed. So the amount somehow goes back to some system and then it deduct with the credit card eh?

So only works for TNB ? What about SYABAS, DIGI, TELEKOM, etc ?

Edit: Sry my bad .. bad habit of posting without research ... here I'd like to share the merchants from the website smile.gif

Express AutoPay Merchant List

For TNB and Telekom it is in the list you posted.

For DiGi, Maxis and Celcom, you can go signup for Auto Debit with them yourself at their Centres and no need to go thru AMEX. Bro, for DiGi, call them up or chat with the CS for further clarification and you may even sign up for autodebit without going to their centre. Telekom I got no idea if they accept AMEX, go call their CS too.

For TNB you need to fill in the Express AutoPay Form and forward it to AMEX for actions. For Syabas I don't think so.

How it works for the Express AutoPay - Fill in the form and allow sometime for it to be process. Once approved, whatever amount billed by TNB will then be paid by AMEX/MBB and reflected in your statement.

No harm go and try right. But if you go too late to 1U, you may not get the card today. See post#1, contact number for 1U Maybankard centre is posted there. Call them for further clarifications.

no, it can go up to 100k if not mistaken

yes, especially those who were holding a gold card since many years ago would have CL higher than RM10K. RHB Gold Biz card go up to RM500K!!!

Nowadays, Gold CC can be considered as Entry Level Card and as such not surprising if the Credit Limit starts at RM5K for those who applied in the last 1 year.

It will not work.

For example:
1st month, (10000-50)*8.88%/12= 73.63 (interest)
2nd month, (9950+73.63-50)*8.88%/12= 73.80 (interest)
3rd month, (9973.63+73.80-50)*8.88%/12= 73.98 (interest)

Therefore:
1st month, 73.63-50= 23.63 (net interest)
2nd month, 73.8-50= 23.8 (net interest)
3rd month, 73.98-50= 23.98 (net interest)

The interest will keep increasing because the it is adding to the principal amount of 10K.
This is so called Compound interest, which mean interest on interest charged.
But, taking into consideration of treat point
Monthly earn 1k x 5 = 5000 equivalent to RM 25

Actually in first few month you will get surplus/gain, but you will get lose after that due to the compounding interest.

Above calculation, you have to make sure monthly spent of RM 1000 is entitled for 5% cash back and 5x point.

Thanks for the workings above. If MBB imposed 6% or less than maybe can earn something.

Just charge RM10K into MBB 2 AMEX and earn RM50 cash back plus 50,000TP (RM250 in cash vouchers), then go find BT offering 0% for 12 months. Then every month for the next 11 months spend RM1K and we will end up earning pocket money up to RM600 pure cash back plus 105000 Treats Points (about RM500 in cash vouchers) biggrin.gif

Anyway, no matter what, if don't have RM10K to repay the initial RM10K spent when time comes, also in deep shit.

I have a supplementary card (Maybank 2 Gold Card) under me but i do not know how to pay for the supplementary credit card bill. I am able to check the amount at maybank2u but really no idea on how to pay it.

Anyone able to help in answering my question? I have tried sending emails to maybank to ask but their efficiency is just a speed of turtle and not really providing any solid help.

Noted you got M2U. You got MBB current account or savings account? If yes just follow the instruction for payment/transfer.

If got no MBB 2 CASA, go to MMB Branch and pay using the Cash Deposit Machine. Follow the instruction and key in your Supp card number.

No problem in paying principal card but can't get any option to pay supp card at M2U.

OIC, pay towards principle card account and it will be auto adjusted for Supp. If you see the statement summary, supp card charges are included into the Principle account.
