honestly, hp not that vital
better figure to look for is higher torque and it's availability

if u sat in a 320nm or more torque car, u'll feel a lot of pull

after using racechip pro, my polo went from stock 105ps 175nm to 109ps 204nm (on wheel, dyno)
assuming 10% power loss on wheel, guestimate figures on crank is around 121ps 226nm

the torque diff is very noticeable and there's a slight kick on gear change around 3k-4k rpm range, max torque at 2500rpm!

improved torque figures well below dsg7 dq200 250nm limit biggrin.gif

no comment since just 2-3 K, you got extra 10% power without disturbing your engine.
why not?  blush.gif
both  tongue.gif

as your reference. both also 20+nm and 24hp

therefore is ok

Yup 3k for 40hp n 80nm is superb deal if u ask me (stage1)
For na u need to do so much n pay more n gain less than that
Last time dynoed my stage1 gti, 207whp and 325nm only
If u look at hp ull say not much. But my engine is much more crazier after the remap.
Even stock mk6 giving out 200whp and 270nm

QUOTE(zenix @ Sep 20 2012, 07:24 PM)
yup and its easy to do.
though too much of it will skew it too much as a weekend drive.
even up to stage 3 its still a very usable daily drive and fc relatively frugal for the performance imho.

Driven a stage 3 before ? Very few i know. Mk6 never heard stage 3 yet

mk5 is using EA113 cast iron engine block
while mk6 is EA888 aluminium engine block

more mod potential for ea113, it can handle more pressure than ea888
if i not wrong tts, s3, golf r & rocco r are using ea113 with upgraded/forged internal parts

well polo is about 1.1 tonne, it's about 300kg less than golf/rocco/beetle
better power to weight i guess

key diff for polo is the suspension, it's not using multi link rear like the rest

Not sure if he ever joined vw tt with u guys before coz he's been driving his gti since 2010 n quite active with vw audi n porsche event too. That's his car in my dp, the white gti with caractere bodykit. Plate number is BLExxxx

one thing about uprating engine performance output,
higher torque churning out from the engine can potentially kill your gearbox in the long run

- wet 6 speed dsg (DQ250) on 2.0 TSI engines are rated up to 350nm
passat cc r line 3.6 v6 engine is not exceeding this manufacturer limit

- dry 7 speed dsg (DQ200) on TSI engine below 2.0 are rated up to 250nm
polo gti & passat 1.8tsi is on 250nm

i mean surely those engine can go pass this torque limit, but they want the DSG to last in the long run

VW group does have better dsg box for higher torque limit (550nm)
- DQ500 (transverse engine, Audi TT RS 450nm)
- DL501 (longitudinal engine, Audi S4 440nm)

Question:

Any of u guys open your hood for polo and found plastic bags shoved on the left and right corner.. I only noticed yesterday. If viewing from front of the car, on the left side, it is just beside the cool-en fluid box. Another way of locating it is just behind the head lamps to the side. Any idea why they put the plastic there? I didn't remove it because afraid it has some use...

I have never seen plastic bags in the bonnet before, beercans, yes but not plastic bag. Can you snap a picture of it? It shouldn't be there unless when you were driving and your car accidentally "ate" them

more potential hmm. but why mk6 output is considerably more?
no idea about polo's rear suspension. multilink is lighter?
yes lighter cars will do better off the line.

You should ask for a ride from either exotic mod's green gti or APR boss, Karl's stage 4 gti.
He's beaten a few carrera 4S before when on stage 3 and that was almost 2 years ago. Wonder how the stage 4 feels like now rclxms.gif
