Just now i went to exoticmods to check for golf r tail light. He said the price now has increased to 2.4k, previously was 2.2k. This is due to shortage of stock. And I have to wait till new stock arrives if i want it because currently there's no more stock there.
But then he said however if i want the taiwan one that one they have ready stock. Its just rm1.3k. I asked what's the difference n he said they look exactly the same but just that its made in taiwan so maybe the quality is quite low compared to the ori one.
He showed me some pictures of the ori n the taiwan one, i couldnt even differenciate them. So i want to ask if anyone here can explain what's the difference between the taiwan n the ori one, n is it worth it if i take the taiwan one? Both of them got 1 year warranty.

this is the picture of taiwan golf r tail light that he showed me. any difference?

Hi I have a few questions to ask regarding my golf gti.

1. How to change the display from mph to kmph? I know i've read about this somewhere but i couldn't find it.

2. I've been driving my golf gti for 3 months now n my mileage is almost 8000km. I know the 1st service is due at 15000km, but should i change my engine oil anyway before i go for a long drive back to my hometown (terengganu) for raya?

3. Since i read some people complaining about the battery, should i go n put on a battery stabilizer? Will it void the warranty? And what does it do actually, does it make much difference?

4. Mine is golf gti 2012 model so it comes with stock 18" detroit rims. If i want to change to new rims, where can i sell my current ones? And around how much can i sell them for?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

I got 1 question for VW Golf owner.

did anyone have a 2nd thought of having VW Jetta instead Golf?

no offense, because both same engine and also 1k extra you can get the bigger car? although Jetta look abit boring. Still I found it quite a bargain.

For me golf looks more sporty n jetta looks more like a family car.

Anyway, i'm planning to do piping n valve on my golf gti after raya to make the car sounds more sporty. This will definitely void the warranty is it? And will it by any chance have any other effects on my car other than changing the sound?

yesterday i scratched my rear bumper when i accidentally hit another car while i was reversing.
the other car got scratched too but luckily it wasn't so bad the guy called a workshop to ask how much
would it costs to touch up his car n it was only rm60 so i straight away just paid him n apologize.

my car however was scratched worse than his. although not that bad, luckily its just a scratch n nothing
more so i can just touch up or repaint it. here's how bad it is

i then went to a workshop today to ask how much would it cost to touch up the scratch, he quoted me rm80
for touch up but the colour won't look exactly the same so that part would look a bit different. if i want the
original colour i have to repaint the whole bumper n it costs rm400.

so i want to ask here, does anyone know any good place i can go to touch up my rear bumper but with the
original colour so it won't look different on the touched up spot? or if that's not possible, is there any place i can
go to repaint the whole bumper with cheaper price? my golf gti is carbon steel grey colour.
thanks

can't see your pic
they other way to do it is to clean & clay/polish (if needed)that scratch & us touch up paint from VW
*
Sorry. Fixed it. Can u see the pics now? I dont think polish will do. Because its not just small scratches, the paint itself got peeled off. How much does it cost for the touch up paint from vw? Where can i go to do it?

just saw your pics paint definitely is peel/rip of those spots, touch up paint from vw will do
but it won't be perfect smooth finish like fresh from oven

on the plus side i think that part of the car is not metal, so rust won't be an issue
*
How much does the touch up paint from vw costs n where can i find them? Go buy directly from vw sc? Yup luckily its not metal

So, i just had a drag race between my stock mk6 golf gti & my friend's heavily modified proton wira,
n i was smoked just like that. Wtf a vw lost to a proton doh.gif . Even my cousin's stage 2+ golf gti just
barely won against that wira. Makes me feel so inferior right now. Time to tune up my ride to stage 1 or 2 i guess. hmm.gif

He's the only one in terengganu that i know who's on stage 3 & full abt bodykit.
But my cousin is gona upgrade his mk6 to stage 3 too in next month maybe.
Not sure if he ever joined vw tt with u guys before coz he's been driving his gti since 2010 n quite active with vw audi n porsche event too. That's his car in my dp, the white gti with caractere bodykit. Plate number is BLExxxx

Why no more 2.0? Discon or no stock ATM?
*
I think its discontinued because they want people to buy scirocco r instead.
Have to find showroom or sa that still have stock if they want to buy scirocco 2.0
Sam seems to still have stock smile.gif

My car is due for its 1st service. Current mileage is 14k++. May i know which is the best vw sc to send my car for service? How long does it usually takes for the service? Do i need to call n make an appointment first or just go there n send the car just like that?

Can anyone list down all the available vw service sc in klang valley together with their contact no? Or give me a link to any website with the details is good enough. N also do they open on sunday? If possible i want to send my car for service before going back to hometown for raya haji on wednesday or thursday

Edit:
Its okay i googled and found this
http://www.servicecenter.com.my/volkswagen...ice-centre-list
Question is, if i bought my car from Wearnes, can i still send the car for service at FA Wagen or Cergaz Autohaus? Or i can only send it at Wearnes?

Just sent my golf gti for it's 1st service at wearnes jalan sungai besi on wednesday before going back to my hometown. The service is quite good. It took them around 3-4 hours for the service, cost is rm603.80 n i got a free complimentary car wash. After the service my car feels a bit faster, the brake is more responsive and it got like a new car's leather smell again.

Anyway, I'm thinking to modify my exhaust n do a straight pipe. Is that gona void my warranty?
