Yes, only one side (either left or right). I forgot the exact term, but there is a warning-light indicator in case you park at dark roadside/alley, for other drivers to see the small-light of your stationary car.
Can't recall the exact term, have to put lights at Auto, after off, then some maneuvers on signal stalks (left/right) on which side you want.

Won't drain the battery since it is a faint light. Read the manual.

Oh ya,

I remembered someone here asking for the single side parking lights. Here you go.

Single-side parking light

When parking on a very dark street (for example - no street lightings), to prevent some one stupid hitting your car by accident, you can switch on one single side parking light. The single side paring light only lights on one side (either left or right) of front (small light only) and rear small light, the number plate light is not on, to use as less power as possible.

To switch on the "single side parking light": Turn on either left or right indicator, then switch off the engine and lock the car. Once you locked the car, the direction indicator will no longer be flashing, and the "single side parking light" switched on instead.

They use it more often in Germany....

Hi guys, I need a bit of help here.

There is an auto hold function in the tiguan rite? Sometimes it can be activated but sometimes it doesn't. Usually I used it when stop at traffic lights with neutral gear. Sometimes it activates and sometimes it just won't do anything. No lights, nothing. Is it normal? Thanks.

Hi guys,

thanks for the advice on the Auto Hold thingy on the Tiguan. I think it doesn't work that time is because at that time the passenger doesnt have his seat belt on. I guess that's what causing the problem.

Another thing, whenever my dad starts his car, a warning will appear "Check Oil Level" and the warning sign appeared is something like this:

This car haven't gone for first service. The salesman said first service only needed to be done at 15000km or 365 days, whichever comes first. But this car haven't even gone for more than 6500km, and it's still 204 days away from the service.

icon_question.gif . Now what to do? Dad says he checked the coolant liquid and it's at the minimum. Should he send it for service or what? And which service centre to go to? Car bought from Federal Auto Glenmarie. But recently there is a new Sales & Service centre at Bayu Tinggi, Klang, which is nearer to where i stay.

even if the service period is still so far away...

it is your right as a consumer to bring your product (in this case, car) in for a check as to what might be the issue...

edit:
so just send in to the nearest VW Service center for them to have a look...

u can bring it to any authorised service center. it is abit of screw up from vw malaysia how they deal with the situation where they have several agents. umw toyota did this very well although there are many agents but the image potrait to the consumer is very good - they are all the same regardless of who own it.

Hi!

VW cars especially models with turbo/super-chargers consumes quite a bit of engine lubes, and especially when the car is still new. Advisable to check the car's engine oil level every 2500km when it is below 10,000km on the odometer. Always have a bottle of spare Castrol Edge 5W-40 or 0W-40 with you to top up, and top up whenever necessary.

I 'm an owner of a Tiguan. Already went through 1L at 2000km! tongue.gif

p/s: yeah, the autohold function won't work unless the passenger-seat-belt light gets turned off...

Bro just go to vw sc and buy a 1 liter engine oil. Then open up ur engine bay and top up the oil urself.

Turbocharged cars will eat the oil. So just check ur oil levelsevery 5000km.

It happens on the GTI too. Just top up will do

thanks for advise.. my dad went to SC today to buy the 1L Castrol Edge 0W-40 (I think so, forgotten d) and since the service head so free, he helped him top up and have a good chat with him.

but that thing costs RM6X! comes with carry pouch and some funnels and gloves... anyone know if outside can buy and fill up ourselves? TQ.

BTW, just realised that one of my neighbours also have a Tiguan... same colour, same spec. hehe biggrin.gif
