Scirocco at 188k is overpriced, Singapore's Scirocco 1.4 is selling cheaper than Golf 1.4

everywhere else , the roc is cheaper than the golf.

in MY it is the tax structure.

But if beetle 1.4 is selling below RM188,888 then must be:
a) tax structure for beetle vs roc is different? I tot both are 2 doors and tagged as a coupe in MY?
b) roc is priced at RM188,888 because VGM marked up the coupe higher to make is more expensive ?
I know the CIF price it is so damn bluddy low, most of the VW owners here can buy a few units without batting an eye. But at 188k... shyt!
c) Beetle is priced lower to attract more buyers? or VGM just make lesser profit off this model.

Anyway, we still do not know the actual selling price , so it is just ranting based on some hearsay at this point.

if u look at neighboring countries, in singapore & aussie roccos are always cheaper than golfs of the same spec
heck even golf 2 door is cheaper than golf 4 door

if 1.2TSI for 138,888 .. very unlikely the 1.4TSI selling 160k... maybe 165k to 170k? Beetle likely cater for niche market rather than mass

if beetle 1.2 tsi 138,888 that's like polo 1.2 tsi 108,888 + 30k
so i'm guessing if 1.4 tsi, it's gonna be about the same as rocco lol

Whatever that was built for cheap, low cost and cater for the mass those days has become niche and premium these days..

The difference in torque and HP is the same as between Golf TSI and Golf GTI. On paper it looks like not much difference, but the power delivery feels very different. Test drive both to appreciate

I love rocc because of the design.. Dont really need power.. Not that i always race on my way to office/home.

Yeah it kinda sucks that it doesn't come with those or even leather seats.

But VW's strong point is not accessories. It's the TSI engine, the DSG gearbox and the quality finishing.
