OK I've verified with my SA, the seat covers he is fitting to my Golf are certified to be compatible with side airbags and my warranty will NOT be voided

can let me know where is that shop? i always wanted leather seat for my golf but the SA said VOID. Any written consent or just verbal?

Well, he's (my SA) is arranging the fitting for me. I even got to pick the colour (I went with black leather on a black car). I asked him via SMS and I have in effect a written record saying that it will not void warranty. I haven't taken the delivery of the car yet so I don't know how that will affect it. I'm purchasing my car from Cergaz near Penchala Link there.

I got mine from cergas too last year

That's awesome. I found my SA very helpful, no patronising just straight to business, informative and efficient. Hopefully maintenance will been as pain-free as the sale has been so far

Yeah but i prefer manual tranny over the auto. Seems VW malaysia dont want to offer manual.

I prefer auto or triptronic anytime. lazy to shift

But how the side airbag going to deploy in case of emergency if wrapped with leather?
Better to get written confirmation from SA, coz they might bullshit just to get commission from the shop.

Curios, why jetta need to remove ECU ?

Tuners will replace with another ECU for the remapping ? if not, how does it work?

i have written confirmation, from what I understand is happening is that the fabric seat covers are being removed and leather covers with the side airbag portion being specially weakened for use with side airbag are being used. like how proper leather seats are done.

then it would be very good.
