I chipped the paint at the bottom tip of the door when it hit some concrete. The color is United Grey. Should I buy some paint to touch up myself (if so where do I get the paint?) or can go to any car paint shop to touch up?

Wah take corners at 170km/h with polo. I've not tried taking a corner with my golf above 120. But then there're many types of corners. Or are you driving a Polo GTI with stiffer suspension? I do feel quite a bit of body roll in a corner with Golf TSI.

September is the time the golf mk7 gets revealed in the 2012 Paris car show, not the time they start selling it. Even Europe will have to wait until end of year or beginning of 2013. And if the trend follows, GTI usually gets launched later (for mk6 it's a year later I think), correct me if I'm wrong. Not trying to be a wet towel, just want to give you a more realistic estimate on when you can get your hands on the car whichever channel you're going for.

Anyway PKR is pledging to abolish car tax if they're voted. I just got my car for a month lol. Crap. I hope existing car owners get some sort of tax refund on the taxes we paid for the cars.

The gvt screw us because they can. And they can because we allow them to. Nothing more, nothing less.

You missed his illustration entirely. He was pinpointing to you that the 10% depreciation should apply on the previous year's resale value. i.e. 3rd year resale value is roughly 2nd year resale value * 90% rather than 10% depreciation based on the car's original price. Hence 5 years later the car does not depreciate 50% but only around 40%.

Erm me too. 2 questions:
1. When starting engine, I always just start it, press and hold pedal brake , release hand brake and then shift to D, release pedal brake and drive. Does the instruction means that I need to press the pedal brake too before I start the engine?

2. Upon reaching my destinations, I hold pedal brake and shift to P then pull the hand brake. Does this make a difference from the 'proper' way shown above?

I understand that hand brake and pedal brake work differently. But I am not sure the rationale behind the instructions, is the purpose merely to (a) ensure that the car is absolutely at a stand still when starting engine and when shifting to P, or; (b) it makes a difference between using the hand brake or pedal brake when starting engine/shifting to P.

Sorry for making this so clinical, but I just want to be very sure. Thanks guys!

Erm sorry but I don't think you answered my que. in his link he mentioned that on starting engine it's important to have any brakes engaged, either hand brake or pedal brake. So it means that as long as the car is held stand still on engine start up its fine? (I understand that you mentioned the brake indicator will light up after you inserted the key, I am suspecting that the car doesn't detect the hand brake but only the pedal brake. Hence my series of question. Since as you also pointed out, putting at P with hand brake the brake indicator will still be light up. It just doesn't feel very intuitive, if we need to wait in the car for a period of time in P, it means we're supposed to hold the pedal brake? Since this is unlikely, hence I suspect that P with hand brake is fine even if there is a brake indicator, and it's fine to start up with only the hand brake up even the brake indicator is lid and lastly my least confident guess is that it's okay to shift to P with just holding the pedal brake).

Thus my questions was to confirm these. And yes, I'd like to find out what's best to do with the gear (and whether to use pedal brake or hand brake) while we got stuck in a traffic jam too.

Okay...haha. Aih we bought this car to torture ourselves. >_<

N/P modes with pedal brake everyday. I will get a disproportionately strong right leg soon. Hope that VW can conduct classes on the correct way to take care of the DSG.
