i think u were just unfortunate to meet most elites that were fire/molten. since your andariel visage takes 6% its actually quite pain.

Best hit 7k armor with 700ish AR, LOH 1000 should be more then enough already with 30K hp minimally.

total up or just the equipment ? cant even tank im at 1100 all resist(with buff) and 6.2k armor(equipment and base) just die like few seconds

To tank, you need LOH/LS or both.
I'll leave that to you to decide.

There are many types of elites. Each group has different damage.
Not all arcane the same. Not all plague the same. Not all fire the same.
So, it is really difficult to tell whether you can tank elites or not.

Based on my experience, you can use Ghom as a benchmark.
If you can tank Ghom, you can tank elites (arcane/poison/fire) in general.

Can't really tell how many LOH/LS you need either.
Because it depends on your DPS & attack speed too. If you can kill fast, you don't need to tank long.
So, you may need lower LOH/LS.
Anyway, do some testing and you will know your build can tank or not.

I think your armor (with shield) is not exactly high too.

Low DPS because you virtually has ZERO crit chance/crit dmg.

Susah sikit lah bro... mine monk 7k armor +800k above +.2.1k LoH can stand tough ghom fight no kite no run out.... baru ngam ngam.. stand inferno sure die less..

Playing as a monk, it's best to equip gears with dex stat so change the shoulder and belt, at least. Since your monk is using a shield, do try to find one that has at least 21% block (to start with), 70 ar, dex and vit stat.

the figure dps is merely a guide. I personally didn't take much attention to it. As long as I can ditch out 100k critical hit frequently (those yellow figures that pops out) and have as high LS/LoH as possible on high dps weapon.

Generally that number is basing on:
1. attack per second - sword is 1.4, dagger 1.5, Increase attack speed items adds on to the numbers.
2. critical hit chance (CC) & critical hit damage (CD), higher the better (and yes this is where it makes the numbers fly up to 100k @ 40%CC+400%CD)
3. item damage: for example your fist with 352-843 @ 1.54 spd willl yield (352+843)/1.54=920.3. If a same fist with 400-800 damage will yield 779 only.

Added on September 26, 2012, 3:22 pm6k armor with a shield is rather low. pump up your dex, str, armor. Should hit 7k++ with shield and 6k with dual wield.

Yuhhaur has a point and I do agree with him except on the last point 3. For me say the example given by Yuhhaur, between a 352-843 weapon or 400-800 weapon, assuming same IAS, I will pick 400-800 for the simple reason of consistency. Min damage will be 400 rather than 352. So i prefer to have a higher minimum range damage anyday over a higher max damage.

Yes so lower dps does not meant bad either. Like I downgraded from a 850dps @ 1.2 att spd 0 LoH to a 780dps @ 1.3att 2.9%LS for better survival. Of course, how deep your pocket & how much you willing to spent is the key here.

Like myself I would not want to invest >10mil for a gear. Shop smart is my motto. Some other with 700Mil (yes you LifeX! ) might be ok to throw 50mil to a fist.

I just surprise to see you guys having high DPS on monk.

Feeling sad that my monk can do 31K dps. When Co-Op with Barbarian, I'm still hitting a minority where all kills by Barbarian... but do have better survival coz having 1.3K LOH.

One silly question want to ask.

Weapon in 3 types.

1. Min and Max Damage with Dex and etc.
2. Weapon Damage % with Dex and etc
3. xxx-xxx Damage with Dex and etc.

Among all these three, how do we know it carry higher dps?
