if hlb is as honest as pbb, then they will still give you the rebate as long as you can prove it's a dining place right? like your case using pbb vs.

kenapa itu restaurant boleh ambil merchant device tapi bukan MCC itu code dining punya ???

Why its restaurant but the MCC code is different.

So anyone try use it at Starbucks before? Considered dining?

I am aware of 2 reasons why MCC for restaurant is not properly defined.

1) That restaurant itself is not only a restaurant, ada business lain eg Chinese Traditional Medicine Shop & Restaurant macam Tang Shifu & Eu Yan Sang , or a restaurant with cake/bread shop. By right, one business type has to get one MCC. Dia orang use one terminal for all their business. So, you use your card over there, it might be listed as either dining, TCM, Bakery , ice cream shop etc.

2) Some Chinese Seafood Restaurant is listed as MCC5813 Driking Places because they serve alcohol !

Starbucks outlet no longer under Dining MCC ... try at your own risk

This kind of credit card cash back promo is call not sincere.. playing customer around..

practical is sucking big time.. who the heck will go n test test dining outlet and see got cash back anot..
Or go n ask the restaurant operator their mcc code meh ? I bet the workers also dunno wad u are talking about if u ask such thing..

have you tried calling the cs trying to prove that the place you went was indeed a dining place?

i never call the cs to check after swipe. but i think maybe the mcc is one of the code from 5331 to 5499.

Somehow this card has become my favourite card especially I dined quite a lot last month. Free additional RM 200 from HLB without me noticing.

i use mine only for dining where amex is not applicable.

Yes me too and also if it doesn't fall on weekends. I also used it to swipe for Agoda Wed deals since it is a VISA card, my other cards are all MasterCard.

Actually I didn't do the calculation and will assume that all fall under the MCC for CB.

hard to have a card that have cb for weekdays.
