Hi Guys,
Need your advice on a laptop I'm planning to get.
1. Preferred Brand: Any will do.
2. Budget: Around 4k
3. Usage: Engineering Simulation, Some games (Diablo, ect)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15.6.
5. Weight : No problem.

So far I've narrowed it down to the following.
-Asus G55VW (non 3D) with Thunderbolt (should be available end of August), either 8 GB or 12GB RAM.
Only thing I don't like about this laptop is that dealing with the Service Center in case of problems is a hassle from what I've read at the forum. On the other hand, we have a lot of positive reports from other users for this model.

- Lenovo Y580, FHD, 8GB RAM. Only thing I don't like is the maximum RAM is only 8GB & the laptop runs a little hot based from feedback on the forum. Good part is the laptop doesn't look like a gaming laptop.

I'm probably going to purchase it via Gadgetzone in Penang as they have a good track record.

Which would you advice me to get & why?
Thanks

Can also add this one into consideration bro brows.gif

MSI
GE60, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GTX660M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) + Bluray@RM4199, 8GB, 1TB(7200rpm), W7HP, 2 years warranty, gaming mouse & backpack, Free SteelSeries QCK Mass mousepad

My vote goes to to Asus or MSI, these are true gaming rigs which are designed specifically to endure heat tortures by intense usage laugh.gif

The Y580 is more towards multimedia if you ask me, but that doesn't alter the fact that the specifications are really worth the price! wub.gif

Those are pretty normal usages nod.gif
Both of them would be good enough, its just a matter of whether you want a 13" or a 14" screen.
THere are other alternatives as well if you're interested  brows.gif

What are the alternatives?

What is e average battery life of a45vd?

Err, basically:
1. Go to shop with money
2. Order/buy the laptop
3. Go home with laptop happily

If you just want to get the laptop original without any modifications then follow the steps above smile.gif
They add SSD to increase the efficiency/faster, of course its more expensive.

Alternative method...

1. check at lyn for the seller with best offer (service, price, location)...
2. go bank press cash, CC got extra charge
3. arrange for COD, make sure unit is seal
4. check laptop, screen, hardware etc
5. pay
6. enjoy
