Only can clarify by sticker? Sorry for my poor English, what I'm going say is, I saw some seller who selling laptop, at the spec there, they put OS = a copy of original window 7, mean not ori?
*
I think it is Original Windows. hmm.gif

btw, U also can check from here for which model you are looking for and see whether that model comes with preinstalled windows(Ori) or freeDOS.

eg:

1. A45Vm-SX029v, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT630M (2GB)@RM2899[2.4kg], 4GB, 750GB(5400rpm), W7HP
2. K46CM-WX025V, i5-3317U + Nvidia GT635M@RM2199, 2GB, 500GB, 4-cell battery, FreeDOS

1. COmes with Ori Windows 7 Home Premium.
2. FreeDOS mean no windows preinstalled. Seller will offer u to install Ori(extra charge) or ehemm.

Hope this help. icon_rolleyes.gif

1. Preferred Brand: Anything (No Apple's plz.. Pears allowed tongue.gif)
2. Budget: <RM3500
3. Usage: Gaming (Guild Wars 2, Dragon Nest, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, CoD etc...)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14"/15"

I'm currently eyeing on lenovo y580.. FHD not really a problem for me because you can always get an external monitor biggrin.gif Besides, fps rate is higher with lower resolution right? ^.^... I'm looking for a desktop replacement-like laptop so I don't mind it being freakishly huge and heavy. I would prefer to go for a desktop, but my current lifestyle wouldn't allow a desktop in it tongue.gif... So, any recommendations? Or I should just go for the lenovo y580? biggrin.gif

While I'm at it, if I have an external monitor with 22"+ The resolution would follow the external monitor or it would stay as the laptops resolution? I'm kind of blurred here... Is the resolution stuck on the laptop screen, thus having an external monitor would change that?

They say the higher resolution, the lower your fps in games.
If you use an external monitor, does that still apply?
*
Beside y580, should consider: hmm.gif
15.6"
Asus N56VZ-S4079V, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1920 x 1080) + BluRay@RM3599[Bang&Olufsen], 4GB, 1TB, W7HP, subwoofer and backpack
Dell Inspiron 15R (Special Edition), i7-3612QM + AMD HD7730M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) + 32GB SSD + 1TB HDD(5400rpm)@RM3199, 8GB,backlit keyboard optional

Bold part: Yes, but u can always optionally set to a lower res. No harm getting fullHD. If games u running capable to run at higher FPS with fullHD, why not? sweat.gif

FYI, on game and monitor itself u can always choose and set ur own preferences resolution from lowest until highest. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi all,

I have an ancient Toshiba M40 and has decided it's time to change (the screen is pretty much dead with 70% of it looking like sketch painting).

1. Preferred Brand: Open to all brands (but looking forward to good recommendations)
2. Budget: <RM2.5k
3. Usage: Just home usage (light; online, simple photo editing, watch movie - basic entertainment)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: Ideally portable; so less than 15''

Highly appreciate the recommendations from you guys! smile.gif

Woah.. Asus only 1.4 to 1.6k ! Compared to both HP model you recommended what's the differences in term of spec ? Why HP's price higher ? If the spec more or less the same I will go for Asus I guess because I don't really cares about the outlook or weight anything.. As long as I can email and do some wordings..

Thanks mate !

Thanks mate. I will go for second choice of Asus which you mentioned is the best choice in balance of price and spec. I can install the Win7 by myself actually. Free DOS won't be a problem I guess. How about the drivers if it is FreeDOS ? Could get support from ASUS or not ?
