Thx for the info! Am in a dilemma now...Are the ones on top significantly better than if i get the Lenovo y580 3630qm version, upgrade to 16gb ram, add 128gb SSD, which prob cost less than above? Are the LEnovo warranty voided if i upgrade?

GPU-wise, the GTX660m is not as good as the GTX670m... but since you have additional budget to go for a SSD, the overall experience will be faster
It all depends on how much you want to spend
Upgrading to SSD won't void your warranty generally~

If you intend to upgrade your laptop later on in the future, you might wanna go for those with a stronger GPU since most are not upgradable once you purchased it... the HDD you can upgrade later when you have the money

Can anyone give me a good recommendation on a new laptop?

I am looking for a good laptop to conduct good usage on Autocad 2012. I want a good HD screen with good specs that can run any 3D programmes smoothly as well.

I was actually looking on Dell XPS but this model only comes in 14 inches (which I think is a little too small). 15 inch is the best size for me.

What laptop is recommended here?
SUMMARY:

2. Budget: Preferably under 5k, would be more comfortable around 4.5k
3. Usage: Gaming (WoW, LoL, Dota 2, BF3, COD). Alot of photo and video editing, aswell as rendering.
4. Preferred laptop screen size: 15"

1. Must be 8gb of ram.
2. Must 7200rpm harddrive speed.
3. A laptop with good cooling system.

I've been interested in the Lenovo Y580 but cannot find the model with 7200rpm. I've also been looking at Sager notebooks but I havent heard of it much.

I was eying these 3 as well.
How would you compare their build quality and reliability?
The Square-something laptop failure was done in 2009 so it is quite old but should I take that into account?

Asus was 1st and HP was last.
I hope that HP has improved now but it would still not be on Asus' level right?
I mean I dont expect them to suddenly become a top 5 within 2-3 years time.
And especially not after their laptop prices has reduced a lot recently.

Every brand (even Acer) offers a wide range of notebooks, ranging from budget to premium to business line laptops... Each with different quality/ reliability
Just because a user has a bad experience with a particular line (mostly budget-line) of laptops, doesn't mean that all the other laptops from that manufacturer suck
Cheap no good, good no cheap~

So it all depends on which specific laptop that you are referring to, and most importantly, the warranty support offered by the company should something go wrong
