QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 6 2012, 11:22 AM) Just get a Lenovo Y480, and use the remaining money to throw in an SSD, extend/ upgrade warranty to 3 years on-site, and get an OS 14" Lenovo Y480, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650(GDDR5)@RM2499[JBL], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, FreeDOS if compare with the new one Y580 ? and warranty cover by lenovo is good as dell ? how about xps 15z but 2nd gen and inspiron 14 @ 15 with i7 ? thanks sifuuu. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 6 2012, 08:52 PM) Those Dell you mentioned are no match for the Y480/580 yeah and Y580 is not so expensive . Y580 is a lot more powerful than the Y480, but larger and bulkier instead If you're going for Lenovo, better opt for on-site warranty, which is much better than normal carry-in warranty last question first suggestion will be the Y580 and ur 2nd second suggestion ? dell laptop thanksss edit sony s or an sony laptop is not good compare to this dell and lenovo ? the one below rm 3500 This post has been edited by danelahhh: Aug 7 2012, 01:52 AM |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 9 2012, 09:32 AM) What do you mean by upgrading the Y480? What do you intend to upgrade? i thought that u410 would be the same as y480 cause the design is good Y580 is much better in terms of graphic performance if that's what you're asking.. Lenovo U410 is a totally different category than the Y480/580 oh... its more geared towards portability and slimness. Don't expect it to perform as good as the Y480/Y580, its not even close at all emm no no my mistake. what i mean is what can i upgrade on y480 in order to be similar to y580 can you help me again |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 9 2012, 07:26 PM) Nope, you won't be able to upgrade the Y480 to become the Y580 (in terms of specifications) you help to decide which one i would buy. thankss alot.U410 is an ultrabook - Basically used for simple daily tasks (office, web surfing, watching movies etc.). Its build with slimness and portability in mind, at the expense of performance. Y480/580 are multimedia machines - Weight is not really a concern here. They are designed to offer good CPU/GPU performance, and not to mention relatively better cooling systems and great speakers as well. So at the end of the day, you need to decide what you want Would you rather sacrifice performance for lightness, or vice versa i think i go for y580 rather than y480 because the price dffrnt is not much. and i will use it for a long term. upgrade it to 3 years on site wrrnty will do right thanks again. finaallyyy |

Err, basically: 1. Go to shop with money 2. Order/buy the laptop 3. Go home with laptop happily If you just want to get the laptop original without any modifications then follow the steps above They add SSD to increase the efficiency/faster, of course its more expensive. [/quote] okayy sound easy. haha thankssss. so the ssd thingy i think will be later on lah. |

If u not urgent to get, just wait for few months later wait the price drop lo... yeah that what im thinking. just wait for a few months. hope it wont take so long. hahathanks btw can you tell me the right price for y580. rm 3599 ? and let say that i purchase the lappy now then upgrade it to windows 8, it is switchable betweem 7 and 8 cause i watched a video when the laptop start , it can choose if wanna use 7 or 8 ? or it is just the wins 8 preview ? soorry is my question is silly. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 12 2012, 12:04 AM) Since you are looking for something light and you're only doing mid-level gaming, then just go for the Y480 top of all/. now lenovo y480 and y580 is beter than others in term of performances right and with the budget that i have ?Save the rest of the money for other usage thank you |
