3. Usage - For mobility, Watching Movies and Playing Games (Mainly Battlefield 3 and Guildwars 2) [Does not have to play on the highest settings]
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - A suitable size for mobility purpose (Travelling alot)

Thank you all!

1. Brand: Asus / Lenovo (i7 3610QM)
2. Budget: RM3k ~ RM3.6k
3. Usage: Multimedia (good sound quality) and light gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15"6 with Full HD

I try to compare Lenovo Y580 and Asus N56VZ-S4079V , both are RM3,599. But it seem Asus has better sound technology ~ hmm.gif

Which one is better ? Or any other suggestion ? icon_question.gif

Thanks ~ rclxms.gif

Hi! I'm considering of buying a new laptop. I really need your help.

1. Brand: Any, as long as it fulfills the criteria I want.
2. Budget: <RM2K, the less the better.
3. Usage: Assignments, multimedia (Photoshop, video editing softwares, movies, etc)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: <14", preferably HD

p.s I'm a student, not in multimedia course. Since I have interest in such things that's why I want a high performance and low-priced laptop.

Suggestions/recommendations are welcomed, and thank you smile.gif

Pretty much only these two.
The sound system is almost the same, maybe Asus sounds better with the subwoofer.
But Lenovo have better GPU.

So it depends on which you personally like smile.gif

Hello, thank you very much for the recommendations here! The list is awesome!

Aside from the brands recommended, are there any powerful ultrabook for Lenovo? My previous laptop was a Lenovo and I had full confidence in that brand.

By the way, I've come to the last 2 contenders in my notebook buying list:

ASUS N56VZ (i5 + GT650M) vs Lenovo Y480 (i7 + GT650M) hmm.gif

I have great difficulties in choosing one of em'...
On one hand, the N56VZ has extremely nice design + 15.6 display, less the Quad i7 processor with higher price tag, and on the other hand the Y480 packs amazing power within its bulky and a rather-too-plain look with much cheaper price tag. So one is value for design whilst the other a value for performance wub.gif

Yea, if u see it from online the Asus certainly look dull and the Lenovo otherwise, but I get to see them in real, and I can confirm it is totally opposite. The Y480 certainly not quite the looker tho (sorry Y480 users/fans, its just my own preference) laugh.gif hmm, the weight did make me think for awhile but then again, I'm not going to carry it around all the time, so meh tongue.gif

Yo, try searching for the one I stated in my comment above (Lenovo Y480 is the best if you must stay on that budget, might as well check the ASUS A45VM). I'm sure you will like it as well. Cheers laugh.gif
