I disagree..although it looks classier...more maintenance required. Safety issue as well.

I think grill is better too. No need to clean and wipe. Who knows
after many years the glass will be still intact. It's quite dangerous if have children..

I think there are many ideas of how a balcony railing should be...depending on the concept of the development, it can be modern or a classic style of railing....for WOTP with nature and greenery concept, I personally think a metal railing is more suited.

Finally a non-bias WOTP buyer's comment here rclxms.gif

Glass definitely is modern trend (and compare with steel which will get rusted, which one more maintenance?), but agreed with you for WOTP comes with natural theme, classic steel railing is more suitable.

Yeah there always chances of it getting scratched and rust..I guess it wont be too bad if its a quality ones, where the rail coating is better quality as well. Repainting can be done? smile.gif

Glass balustrades may not age well in terms of design, and it can feel a bit cold.

For me the railings used by SDB has this timeless feel, also let's not forget that the large balcony is meant to give you the sense of spaciousness, and the ventilation is a huge part.

I like glass. me feels more classy and views not block unlike grill.

I think the glass should be quite thick one, not so easy to pecah like those office building .

The pro about glass fence are the view won't be blocked when you're seated at the balcony.
Con are ventilation will be blocked as what urb7 have said..

wow...it looks like we are in some serious discussion on balcony railings...and I love it...is an exchange of knowledge rather than an argument...keep it up guys!

The other thing which may of interest for discussion is whether WOTP should have LED lighting for the common area , including car park areas...there are many benefits ...saving from electricity cost, eco friendly, durable etc...

I don't think WOTP go for a GBI certification, instead SDB engaged a Singapore consultant to provide an objective view of how sustainable is WOTP as a green development....want more detail, you can read on...
