QUOTE(carbonytte @ May 20 2013, 06:30 PM) I thought of that as well, but I'll wait for next year in order to tolak a bit from tax. Anyway I just got a new wifi card, Intel 6235. I wonder if I can just change the wifi card just like that, or does the BIOS has wifi whitelist that it needs to adhere to. Thanks for the suggestion carbonytte. I tried that before. Still crashed before the Windows Logo came up fully. Finally, the real issue came up. It was the graphics card. Lines and colour distortion started to creep up on a screen like some old movies. I contacted Illegear and they are going to take my laptop and diagnose it properly. Can you try booting on other RAM slots? Anyway I had my own issues with Win8, it keeps on saying there is error and need to restart after boot. And so happens that my vpn software went wrong, had to uninstall in safe mode. Probably you could try this, but would be a pain in the butt since to enter safe mode, you actually need to login Win8 first, then quickly go to settings to enable safe mode. |

Got my Aftershock X15S last week, with the following specs:
Component List : - Central Processing Unit : 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4800MQ Processor - Graphics Card : NVIDIA GEFORCE 780M GTX 4GB DDR5 with Optimus Technology - Memory (RAM) : 16GB DDR3 1600MHZ (2X8) - Display : 15.6 Inch Full HD Matte LED display with 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920 x1080) - Dead Pixel Policy : 30 Day 0 Dead Pixel Policy - Thermal Compound : IC Diamond Thermal Compound CPU + GPU (Free Lifetime Thermal Compound Re-pasting) *Promotion* - MSATA Bay : Samsung MSATA SSD 128GB - MSATA Bay 2 : None - Hard Drive : 750GB 7200 RPM HDD *swapped the Samsung 840 Pro 512GB in, from my 3 months old Illegear RS-15 into this* - Optical Disk Drive : 8 x DVD ± R/RW/4X +DL Super Multi Drive & Software - WI-FI Bluetooth : BIGFOOT Killer™ Wireless-N 1202 802.11 A/B/G/N Wireless LAN + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Module - Professional Color Calibration : Professional Color Calibration - Operating System : Windows 7 Professional x64 - Warranty : Aftershock 1 year parts, 3 year service (Onsite / Pickup and Delivery) The build is exactly as how the Illegear RS-15 is, only its internals are of different design. Very impressed with how it handles Crysis 3 at Very High settings with V-Sync off and no AA, upper 30+ fps especially on busier scenes. Also impressed with how the Aftershock guys handled my build. Chatted with them via online chat at their website, they immediately moved to build phase next day, and 2 days later ready for delivery in Singapore. I had a good friend hand-delivered it to me here in KL. I could have gone the route of MSI GT series, but for some reason,IN MALAYSIA, retailers here only have the GT70 with the 780M in, the GT60 did not. And I'm not carrying a 17" laptop around, 15" is what I still consider "portable". This post has been edited by stringfellow: Jun 29 2013, 10:08 PM |
