QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Oct 2 2012, 06:23 AM) sounds weird. yesterday i argue with my brother for the taxation of complete built computers. he says taxation need to be paid and what need to worry the most is our custom that like to delay delivery and might ended up the computer confiscated. |

i read reviews that sager has problems with their keyboard, that is some keys need to be pressed harder to register the key and keyboard ghostting, which means some key combinations wont work. does anyone encounter this?

QUOTE(ssassassa9 @ Dec 1 2012, 01:50 AM) My NP9150's charger is now giving me problem, it now produces some high pitch noise which only could be heard in a pretty quiet place. According to some research I made, its a sign of a damaged power adapter....... Sigh, what can I do? if you are still under warranty, you should PM your seller about it to request a change. hardwares nowadays are easily defective. |

QUOTE(SonicSpyro @ Dec 18 2012, 11:37 AM) Hi guys, if you want to catch up with gaming performance, you can change it. HD5870M couldnt handle most of the modern games at high graphics settings now. if you want to use just for work, keep it till it died. Currently contemplating on whether I should wait until 2013 to get a new laptop or I should just stick with my current one. Been playing games smoothly so far with my current setup (check siggy) but I feel that it's time to retire that old one (turning 3 years in Feb'13) and move to a new one. What do you guys think? If the current models, I'm looking at the 9150 which is just the same size as my current one and I'm not too keen on getting anything bigger than that. I did see that the powerbrick for the new laptop is HUGE. :| This post has been edited by raymondtong94: Dec 18 2012, 08:15 PM |

P170EM speaker is worse than the P370EM, while P370EM Onkyo speaker is worse than MSI GT's Dynaudio. i hope clevo redesign their laptops for better keyboard support, better speakers and no built-in mic in the middle of the keyboard (talkin on the mic while typing really irritate the listeners).

QUOTE(500yearoldalien @ Dec 21 2012, 05:48 PM) 1. yes, but i recommend use the drivers from their original sites. i heard that sager provided drivers are crappy on the site than the cd (or vice versa).2. both this drivers are useless. for rapid start, your mSATA is used as a cache storage, pretty much like a RAM but usage is different. as for rapid storage, u need to have RAID option to use this driver. 3. yes, install the intel's graphics driver before proceeding the graphics card driver installation, to prevent errors in the system. 4. after the drivers are installed, update your windows (if necessary). then, you are on the go to enjoy your laptop! EDIT : btw, i dont agree to use mSATA as an OS drive. the speed of a mSATA SSD is slower than standalone SSDs but faster than standalone HDD, so its preferable that you use it as a cache storage. QUOTE(eugenelimys @ Dec 24 2012, 03:41 AM) How long can a illegear RX17 and RS17 last respectively? Need to find a laptop for schooling+gaming. RX17 will be 1.8 hours if you have dual GTX680M SLI, while dual HD7970M CrossFireX will be less than 1 hour. as for RS17, it has nvidia optimus or amd enduro, so will last approximately 3 hours. |

QUOTE(eugenelimys @ Dec 24 2012, 12:50 PM) I am not planning to play in school. I want a laptop so that I could get more portability. I just want to record notes or maybe do some homework in school only. bring your power brick along if you so worry about the battery. since you have the cash, why you no choose option for 2nd battery or a high capacity power bank? |

QUOTE(jimmykvt @ Dec 24 2012, 10:14 PM) With the same price, you can definitely get better spec in RS17 than M17X. You can actually compare these 2 because both come with single GPU only. same here but i have no choice but to choose alienware as my destined laptop, as sager's keyboard is crappy like i have to slam the keyboard to register the key. But, seeing your budget of RM 15k in the other post, I think you can just max everything in M17X。 Personally, I still feel that Sager/Clevo/Illegear is more affordable than Alienware. I for one won't go for an alienware because I like plain design and keeping low profile. if sager has better changes, i think i could change my mind. |

QUOTE(SonicSpyro @ Dec 27 2012, 11:55 PM) Quick question... Would keeping a battery in storage for a year degrade it in anyway? Would it be dangerous if I plug it back into my laptop and charge it (never remove the power supply until I turn off the laptop)? It's been a year+ since the battery has been in the laptop. I stored it in its own box in my drawer at home and before I removed it, it had 40% left. 1. storing a year with charged power will degrade eventually. the battery have to be used sometimes, just try not to use below 30% (my recommendation).Hope you guys can help me with this. Thanks a lot. 2. its not dangerous. |
