Remember, jerking at low speed (<40km/h) is NORMAL  flex.gif Just imagine driving a manual car at first gear and adjust accordingly  laugh.gif

Haha, I won't say it's terrible, but for someone who is used to the regular torque converter AT it can be pretty annoying.

It's not a big problem, once you get use to it and learn to control the throttle.

But I'm sure you guys would still prefer a clutch based CVT over a torque converter CVT for the power and efficiency wink.gif

Clutch is always more efficient than torque converter, I do wonder do all clutch-based CVT jerk like Saga's?

The only other car I've ever driven with a CVT (besides the FLX on a short test drive) is the Merc B180. I dunno if that CVT is clutch or torque converter based but it was certainly very smooth. No jerking at low speeds.

Edit: Oh it's torque converter based.

No I'm referring to the CVT. I'm driving a manual myself. Yes it does jerk badly at low speed but after 40,000 km of practice I've learnt how to minimise it nod.gif

I can't stand the jerks even if I drive alone. It makes me feel like I'm a n00b driver icon_question.gif

It's common for clutch-based CVT to jerk like this, sorta like half-clutching so to speak, the previous City can be induced to jerk like that too although somehow it's a little more refined.

She hasn't driven it yet. She drove my dad to the showroom to pick it up and he drove the old car back. She doesn't want my dad to teach her, hahaha..But dunno la, maybe in the next few days she'll change her mind. I'm supposed to teach her when I go back though.

i think it will take time to get used to the CVT
i saw ppl in exora rev the engine uncontrollably
and for the highlighted part...i think your mom got her point, if shes driving and your dad sit beside...thn i think sooner or later, your mom would rather take the bus

BTW, was wondering if anyone knows the wheel specs of the stock 15" FLX SE wheels? Stuff like rim width, stock offset, and also center bore size?

Probably taking delivery of a FLX SE in a week or two's time, first things to go are the leather seats(was hoping it's possible to swap with another FLX Executive buyer before taking delivery of the car) and also the clear tail lamps. Next up would be replacing some better tyres and possible one of 15" wheel sets from my "wheel whore" collection laugh.gif

Her driving is ok, in fact, very good if I may say so myself. Not like those typical aunties, and definitely better than most of the younger female drivers out there. My dad on the other hand is the total opposite. Very calm, very professional, but HEAVY FOOTED. He said that's what happens when you live you've lived almost 35 years of your life on an oil rig. Anytime he sees open roads, he guns it.

Depends on you're looking for standard replacement or upgraded bulbs. If your model is the twin bulb type, then the bulb type is H7, if you're is the old single bulb model, then the bulb type is H4. Shouldn't be too hard to change just the bulbs, and it wouldn't make any effect on the light shine at all if you're just changing the bulb, unless you're talking about trying to level the lights yourself.

Changing the light bulb is just removing a fixed position bulb and replacing it.
