Hey there guys. Dad just booked an FLX SE 1.6CVT for Mum, will be getting it by this week I think. I'll probably be taking over her old Merdeka promo Saga and use it for a couple of months before I change it next year to something I like.
Will have to go home next week to teach her how to drive an auto! Hahahaha
She's so used to manual, she never wanted anything but a stick shift! Forced her to take the auto since she does daily driving to and from work and frequently runs errands, plus she's past her 50's.
Oh, and nice to meet u guys! smile.gif

You might need to learn to drive a CVT yourself too  laugh.gif

Hahaha, trust me when I say that's the least of my problems. tongue.gif
Was reading your blog earlier. That's some really good honest insight I must say. icon_rolleyes.gif
Anyway, we have auto cars at home, its just that she's really stubborn. We've been trying to force her to learn how to drive an auto, but she'll keep giving excuses. This time no chance, if she wants to be mobile, she's gotta learn! thumbup.gif

So fast. 1 week! What color?
*
The red one, Fire Red, or something like that right?. Oh from Johor Bahru by the way, which is probably why. The car is already there, its just a matter of settling the payment. Made the booking a week back or something like that, plus, no loan application or anything, which is probably why we got it fast. Well that's the best reason I can think of at least.

Oh yeah, if you guys don't mind me asking, what do you think I should ask for as a free gift? I mean, steering lock and umbrellas are probably standard, plus the car is already tinted in stock condition right? Is it any good though, or would any of you recommend replacing it? She'll be the one driving the car, and her hospital has a shaded car park anyway.

for a dealer/seller, there's only one reason to give that discount/freebies but they can create a thousand reasons to take back the discount/freebies.

I also can do that but those are just unethical practice. I willing to earn less, as long as my conscience is clear.
*
Yeah, well my Mum's SA just told her to list what she wants. He did mention that window tint was free, so don't need to ask for that, which is why I just needed clarification earlier. I think the smart tag would be a good thing though.

smart tag for saga purchase, not many willing to give... coz the cost of smart tag already exceed 10% of the commission they received for the sale of a Saga

Ah, I see. Well will keep you guys updated on the outcome though.

She hasn't driven it yet. She drove my dad to the showroom to pick it up and he drove the old car back. She doesn't want my dad to teach her, hahaha..But dunno la, maybe in the next few days she'll change her mind. I'm supposed to teach her when I go back though.

Hahaha, alright, noted, thanks man. I'll also update here once I've driven it. But talking to Dad just now, he's actually happy that he's gotten more than he paid for. He felt that it was a good buy, and trust me, coming from him, that IS DEFINITELY a compliment!!

i think it will take time to get used to the CVT
i saw ppl in exora rev the engine uncontrollably
and for the highlighted part...i think your mom got her point, if shes driving and your dad sit beside...thn i think sooner or later, your mom would rather take the bus
Her driving is ok, in fact, very good if I may say so myself. Not like those typical aunties, and definitely better than most of the younger female drivers out there. My dad on the other hand is the total opposite. Very calm, very professional, but HEAVY FOOTED. He said that's what happens when you live you've lived almost 35 years of your life on an oil rig. Anytime he sees open roads, he guns it.

Frankly, everytime I buy a car, the feeling also very the same geh. For example, getting my GaGa the day, night time reach home paking ady, went home shower, eat dinner went to bed, closed eye jor still unable to sleep. The Campor sound still resonating inside of my system laugh.gif midnight will bounce up from bed go and check out my TRD BLM geh blush.gif

Even recently, took the Fira 1.3 home, changed to the dropin pilter ady... whoah! The VTEC sound even geng"er" than a real VTEC, again can not sleep. Midnight also bring the car go LDP tauke until 5am in the morning icon_idea.gif

It's like every now & then when I have any upgrade on any of my car, I will feel hepi until can not sleep der. Sometimes my waifu also komplen me. Last month when I hooked up the electric meter to my BLM, I was sitting in the car reving my engine throughout the evening just to make it "BEEP" sweat.gif

Bro, your waifu must really wub.gif u man.. notworthy.gif

Was wondering if anyone knows if the "Fire Red' for FLX SE have paint issues like the one on the Prevé? Seems like the ones on the Prevé is discontinued due to paint issues and I'm still waiting for a Fire Red FLX SE. unsure.gif
*
Mine's alright, no issues whatsoever so far. Eh boys, is it recommended to wax the car early? I mean, just to protect the paint against our weather etc? Oh, and if any of you are from JB, any recommendations? hmm.gif

I'm also not exactly sure why is Fire Red being discontinued for the Prevé, supposedly, due to paint issues.

Well, actually, yes, it's recommended to wax the car ASAP, before contaminations start to build up, but it's still recommended to at least clay it first to remove any bonded contaminants(if any).

Ah, alrighty, noted. I've got a few recommendations from friends for a dude who does detailing in SG. The problem is, this would be his first Saga if I ever decide to send it there. doh.gif
He usually deals with horses and bulls, if you know what I mean rclxub.gif

Hmm...in that case I think the Preve's Fire Red is a third, newer version  hmm.gif
*
Yeah I think so too. Just now went to buy dinner, saw the red preve, and parked next to it. Both were under a streetlamp, and I don't know whether it was because of the lines of the car, but I did feel that the colour was a little different. Dunno la, maybe my eyes playing tricks on me.. sweat.gif

So lucky, red preve dem rare you know  whistling.gif

Last Preve TT, out of 30 odd cars there was like what? 2-3 red Preves? Other than that, I only ever saw 1 red Preve OTR.
*
LOL, the JB showroom we got the car from was full of new red and blue ones, probably waiting for the owners or something, because they didn't have plates on. Even when I went to check it out a few months back the day after the launch, the SA was saying that the red and blue would be the fastest off the shelf compared to the rest of the colours as most people prefer white/black etc
