Tonight I try backup conf.bin and try reset and restore config try first. It ok I will upload conf.bin to here

And I will buy spi flash programme tool and backup firmware, and flash other same hardware firmware openwrt to test

Was using Asus AC55UHP router when I was on unifi 500Mbps. Works great for me.

Now moved to Maxis 300Mbps, i notice the Archer C5v have frequent disconnects at random times...
is this normal?

How can I make use of my AC55UHP router back ? Set as wireless AP? As repeater?
Or totally remove the C5v and use the only the Asus AC55UHP to connect?

I don't have the Maxis Fiber login/password details to make the AC55UHP router as the main router.

maxis ID you can see on your bill. Normally is 5 or 6 number and password is XXXXXX1. X is your user id

And second you can login to router to see your user ID and what backbone you using

The speed is good even on 2.4GHz (yup can get about 50-60Mbps) and even better on 5GHz (highest I can get with my devices is about 200Mbps), but the random disconnects is annoying. Sometimes Netflix, Youtube, or Wifi on smartphones, laptops simply refuse to connect. Then need to on off wifi or reset the router.
Will try to replace it with the Asus AC55UHP and see how it goes. Hope there is a difference so that I can rule out the C5v router.

Dear all,

I have just change to Maxis Home Fibre, however due to their router wifi not good, I decided to switch back to my TPLink AC2300. My internet can use, but VOIP can't use. I understand that VOIP must use Maxis router, can anyone here assist me?

Below are my hardware currently:-

1) Modem : Alcatel I-240G-P
2) Maxis Router : AC1200 (DL4480V1)
3) My Router : TP Link AC2300

Thanks

Anyone experience disconnect on Maxis Fiber VDSL ?

that only happen when i use custom setup. where

NETIS (VLAN ID 621, map to port 2 not tagged) --> Netgear r6300v2 (dial pppoe)

this setup works fine for months, until today it connect after reboot both device. then few minutes later it disconnect and it wont reconnect. i look into the syslog. it says received disconnect command from the ISP.

then when i change the setup back to original maxis one.
NETIS (VLAN ID 621, map to port 2 tagged) --> MAXIS TP Link Archer c5v

it works fine........

issue is, the stock router sucks. i would like to use my NETGEAR as primary dialer/router. and TM NETIS as bridge. but this setup seems not working.

i already send technical to maxis, wait them call back.

Hi guys, I bought a new custom router AC3150 to replace the Archer C5v that Maxis has because of the frequent disconnections.

Would like to share that while you buy new custom router and even though it says it is Maxis compatible, the Maxis VLAN settings on my new customer router is configured to fit if only you are on Maxis but with a TM infrastructure. And mine is not - hence I spent a few hours trying to figure out why I couldn't connect to the internet.

If you're in the same situation as me, recommend that you read this guide (someone above also shared this): https://h.auyong.me/networking/2016/12/05/m...ftth-setup.html It has the updated VLAN ID settings for Maxis internet with Maxis infrastructure.

Additionally, if you don't know the PPPoE username & password, you can simply call Maxis Call Centre and ask specifically for the PPPoE username & password.

Not a simple plug & play unfortunately...

Hope this helps!!

How's signal strength/stability on AC3150 compared to c5v?

I am also getting frequent disconnects using the custom router on Maxis VDSL running on TM backbone. Any feedback from Maxis? Suspect they did something with the BTU.

is your BTU Netis or Huawei one ?

for now i revert back using Maxis stock TP-link C5v first. plan to get router that support proper WAN VLAN tagging.

since my previous router [netgear 6300v2] the switch only support 2 digit vlan only. even change to merlin firmware [they have maxis profile option with proper WAN port VLAN tagging] or ddwrt which only show 16 VLAN only.

i think they do some remote upgrade to the BTU, or they check for specific packets with tags..... on PPPoE, i can confirm is they will send disconnect command to our modem if no VLAN tagging configured [port map method].

I’m using Huawei’s BTU.

I have configured port bind and vlan tagging in the btu (my previous setup was only port binding). I also clone the MAC address from the archer c5v.

So far no disconnects

yes I’m using tplink wdr4300 but on normal
Mode. I have tried using the unifi (maxis on tm backbone) mode but it doesn’t work so I untagged the vlan in BTU instead of the router

Hei Guys..
I have change my internet service provider from unifi to maxis home fiber.
I using router asus RT-AC5300 i re-configuration the setting. all internet work fine...
Except my VPN connection PPTP and IPSecVPN..
All this was working before when i using with unifi.. but not work anymore for maxis home fiber.. i use same DDNS setting ...
Maxis is refuse to help for troubleshoot. they suggest me to use back their lousy router...

I found when i using DDNS iplookup.. the IP i got is different with the IP display at my Network Map. I think something is wrong with my maxis modem?

Maxis provide private IP which is NAT'ed.

In short, it doesn't work with IPsec VPN.

You can phone Maxis and request for a public IP.

Hi guys!
Is it possible to add a custom router and use two router in one account.
If yes then I'll use the maxis ac5v for voip function then another custom router for gaming use.
