Good day, not sure if this is the place to seek guidance. I'm trying to setup Maxis's Aminia MA131 router as my AP, but to no avail. I did set an IP for the AP and turned off the DHCP server, couldn't get an ip when trying to connect via Lan or Wifi.
Confused.

I hope someone can help me with this issue, since this is an old post.
I have a second router (TP Link AC1200) connected to my maxis Thomson router as an AP. The AP is successful and giving me connection. But now I noticed that I am having trouble with my Maxis IPTV service. There is a 'X' on the multicast connection on the Maxis Gateway page. Basically, the TV doesn't work. I have a LG Smart TV connected to wifi, and Netflix and Youtube works normally. I just cannot seem to get a connection with the Astro (IPTV).
I have disabled DHCP server on the TP Link router, but the IPTV still does not work.
How do I get it to work? Do I have to configure any more settings on the TP Link router? If you know the solution to this, please give me a detailed step-by-step on how to solve it.
Thanks in advance!

Hello all, I had maxis 10mbps with HG8240w modem since 2015, today technician came in replaced TG784n router to c5v router Since I couldnt find out HG8240w's address, I used au.hx's method successfully https://h.auyong.me/networking/2016/12/05/m...ftth-setup.html modem to custom router(rt-ac68u freshtomato 2018.3), custom router to maxis router(for voip) other finding: in this method, custom router doesnt have to be exactly 192.168.1.254 This post has been edited by bocy: Oct 30 2018, 07:19 PM

If this is not solved yet, you need to turn 'ON' the DHCP server for it to assign IP to your devices that is connecting to the router.

But there are advantages if using same LAN IP-segment (connect LAN to LAN) such as additional LAN port in C5v and easily manage the C5v in the same LAN, thus avoiding swapping your LAN cable. You could change the C5v to an IP which is part of your main AC68 LAN segment, as well.

hello everyone, im on maxis fiber vdsl 30mbps. just changed router from thomson to tplink archer a5v. my setup is huawei hg655a, tplink a5v and custom router. default setting is vlan 621, pppoe from modem itself. i found out that the a5v by maxis is settings locked, the only connection type available is pppoe. i need it to be used with the voip phone, it shouldnt be a problem if the connection can be changed to dynamic...but its maxis firmware and locked. does anyone here care to share with me their default settings for ptm621 for huawei hg655a? if i can revert modem to bridge mode, a5v will dial and i can use the voip phone along with my custom router. or otherwise there is a way to connect voip phone itself to hg655a modem? thank you.

I wanted to configure the maxis phone number to my IPPBX system so that i can route call to my SIP phone but i couldn't get it work even though connected to VLAN822 and able to get an IP Address from the DHCP server.
I tried live chat with the maxis support few days ago but he only gave me a contact number to call. When i call them up and after describe the issue to the customer support he requested me to hold and will transfer me to a tech guy to assist me but i waited more than 30 mins and until the line cut off also nobody get back to me.
Again, i called maxis help line on the day after. i explained to them the issue and they promise someone will get back to me within 2 hours but after 3 days still no one follow up and call me.
I wonder anything wrong with the maxis customer support ?

I just got my Fiber connection last month and I'm not satisfied with the Archer Router. I want to go back to my old D-Link router where all my settings are. Does anyone know how to set the Huawei Fiber terminal to accept other routers? I tried connecting my D-Link direct to the Fiber point but i get nothing. No internet. It seems that I can only connect the Archer Router from the fiber point in order to get internet connection. I prefer to put the Maxis router in the store room and save a plug point and use my D-Link router directly.

Does the first post tutorial still works for latest equipment by maxis? I notice that the modem model now is hg8240h.
So, the static Ip, username and password still can use like old one?

Hi guys, I bought a new custom router AC3150 to replace the Archer C5v that Maxis has because of the frequent disconnections. Would like to share that while you buy new custom router and even though it says it is Maxis compatible, the Maxis VLAN settings on my new customer router is configured to fit if only you are on Maxis but with a TM infrastructure. And mine is not - hence I spent a few hours trying to figure out why I couldn't connect to the internet. If you're in the same situation as me, recommend that you read this guide (someone above also shared this): https://h.auyong.me/networking/2016/12/05/m...ftth-setup.html It has the updated VLAN ID settings for Maxis internet with Maxis infrastructure. Additionally, if you don't know the PPPoE username & password, you can simply call Maxis Call Centre and ask specifically for the PPPoE username & password. Not a simple plug & play unfortunately... Hope this helps!! This post has been edited by cherriedpie: Mar 30 2019, 12:35 AM
