QUOTE(ruztynail @ Jun 11 2012, 04:14 PM) no its not smooth.. tats why... quad core with 1gb ram.. and its first OS.. lags.. eg. is whn i browse the net. or watch movie long enuff.. whn i exit the application or any other application to the home menu.. the icons comes out one by one.. worst is the widgets.. isnt that a lag? dunno maybe i am too picky.. but doesnt the phone have enuff raw power to process all this stuff ar? lol.. its jus not my phone.. apparently all my other colleagues as well.. and.. the water ripple bit.. whn u on ur phone to swipe across the live wall paper to access the menu.. u can see the ripples moving ever so slowly.. its only u tap tap awhile. thn only its smooth.. meaning to say.. the wake up call for the processors to start their engines is slow.. betul tak? haha.. i ranting d... sry... That's Samsung's Touchwiz for you. Resource hungry. (Over 60mb sometimes!) The OS kills this "Launcher" whenever there is need for more RAM i.e. the stuff you mentioned and it restarts when you exit/press Home. If that bothers you, use alternative launchers i.e. Nova, Apex where they have a "stay in RAM" function. However, you will need root for a complete experience with these 2.

If I had my way, I would remove Touchwiz completely from the system. But from what I read, it's almost impossible as the programming is down to the very essence of the firmwares. Heck, even the soft keys are totally different whereby there is no more soft-key for the multi-tasking screen shortcut. Miss my plain-vanilla ice-cream sandwich experience on my previous Galaxy Nexus.

Also it depends on what you put on your screens. More piglets, more fat RAM usage

I'm wondering. Will the S3 with 2GB RAM have poorer battery life than the S3 with 1GB RAM? Because RAM needs power to maintain itself especially if it's being used. Just a thought.
I'd go for better battery life any day if the 2GB version takes a severe hit on the battery.
