y580 have heat issue?
*
Y580 is bigger than Y480, should be better in heat control. Many of us are using Y480, and yet the heat issue is minor so far, and quite a lot of us will be buying a special caddy to move the hdd to the dvd drive bay, when this is done, the heat issue on the hdd will be gone.

i m going to get a Y580 soon, thinking of getting the Rm2848 model...
it is big different with coming new processor? worth to wait? icon_question.gif
*
The new processor i7-3630QM only offers 100MHz more in base clock and 100MHz more in turbo boost. Not sure about the TDP yet but it'll be mostly the same. Frankly speaking, if all things equal (believe its the same chip, just clock higher), I'd rather have a cool and efficient chip.

y580 have heat issue?
*
Nope. On my Y580, 1 hour of MW3 gaming the GTX 660M GPU only recorded max temperature of 68 Deg C while the CPU recorded max temperature of 67-70 Deg C. No cooler but in air conditioned room set to ambient 20 Deg C.

hmm... honestly i'm not sure. i found this with 20132:

http://www.kwcheah.com/2012/08/17/lenovo-y580-review/

inside my box, there is a piece of packing list, that describes the components of the unit, it will tell whether your display is hd or fhd LED.

maybe you'll have to use your serial no. to check on Lenovo, or ask your seller.

another possiblity is the display card driver - is it the correct one installed? or is your y580 came with the windows pre-installed?

I'm not sure what packing list is that.
I only have some setup poster, limited warranty booklet, safety and general information guide.

Display card driver? How to check? hmm.gif
Yes the windows is pre-installed.

I'm pretty sure the seller said its FHD.
