May i ask what is SSD ?

Im not very good with comp specs.. =(

SSD is Solid State Drive, which is like a new kind of hard disk, but it has no moving parts, so it is very very fast and should last longer. but now still new, and is a bit more $$$ than normal hdd.

a lot of y480 and y580 users here have done this operation:

1. take out the dvd drive
2. move the hdd to the dvd slot (nned to buy a special caddy, cost around <rm50)*
3. put the ssd into the orginal hdd slot.

that way the heat problem is solved, and the start up time is down to below 10s.

i have done 1, and 2, not yet 3, as i have no problem with the speed, and also to wait for cheaper ssd.

Some users here said that the mcafee is the cause of slow internet connection and weak wifi signal, if you have problem with your wifi connection, you can uninstall it

hmm.. how to turn on y580's gtx660m ?.. mine seems to be not running at all..

updated.. i used gpu-z.. n the memory usage for dedicated n dynamic both also 0.. while the hd4000 1 got value..

What game are u playing?
And u using what version? R310 or R306?

Hie guys does any of you know where i can still find y480 in lowyat? If can with FreeDos better..

Anyone faces this problem? If I leave my laptop on for too long, the Nvidia graphic card will disappear and when I launch a game, it will use Intel onboard graphic instead.

Sounds like driver problem....
