Yes earnings has nothing to do with your liability. But yet doctors are not earning that much in contradiction with what the public thinks. You pay RM20+ consultation fees when you go to a clinic yet people now are able to pay RM50+ for a simple haircut. Comparing the fees used to study medicine and the fees to be a hairstylist, who is earning more? Yes you may say that not everyone will visit the hairstylist but yet there is not just 1 clinic in whole Malaysia. Other than that, the so called "expensive" fees by staying in hospital is earn by the HOSPITAL OWNER not the DOCTORS.
*
If that place you mention a doctor can charge only RM20+, I doubt anybody will pay RM50+ for a haircut.

Also figure out how many hair cuts can you do a day compared with how many patients a doctor can see a day.
Unless everybody cuts botak! doh.gif

we are talking about treatments for patients, life and death should be the paradigm of the practice.

why should this be any different, when entry into ipta is already based on nep and entry into ipts is based on money?....

How is the education standard in Egypt compared to that in Russia?
*
our educational medical program emphasize 2 phases. 1st 3 years for preclinical and 4th to 6th yr clinical. the syllabus using conventional system where the students only get to approach patient start from 5th year. its a lit bit late than malaysia i think bcoz u can do clerking even start from 1st yr. plus we already have a very strong language barrier here. but our universities are recognized by MMC. i hope my colleague either in local and private uni can accept us whole-kindheartedly as you know we have some disability to adapt with malaysia system in coming days. as for me 5th yr stud in egyptian university may consider if i get accepted to persue medicine in IMU/UM/UKM/UniSZA which i requsted in form before. pray for me as well. icon_rolleyes.gif

90 hours week during tagging period, which is 2 weeks every 4 months.

After tagging, need to hit at least 60 hours a week to get extra RM600.

Working hour is very long, and the basic pay is RM2777, RM5300 is unlikely nowadays.

Medicine is an easy field hey? Just advice patients to 'rest more, more fluids' or 'get me an CXR' and charge them RM80-200. Easy money, we should all just stop what we are doing, get into a med school and be a doctor! And start earning heaps!

time has really changed.....now students choose their med schools....instead of the other way round....

may i suggest a simple test to determine the quality of a local med school?...if they beg you to join them, you have many choices to choose from, non of them is of any quality....

if it is well known to be difficult to qualify to enter, you are not sure if they will accept you in spite of straight a results....then it is a quality med school.....and there is probably only one in this category now.....

Thanks for the reply , Mahsa and Aimst only gave me provisional offer , not an official letter yet . For Mahsa , they ask me to study there while waiting for the official letter , so they gave provisional letter and ask me to study there asap while waiting for the official letter ( since the first intake is already studied a lot , and i have to catchup with them as soon as possible ) , they insist me to pay 2.5k and the hostel fee . I had a bad feeling about this . so i waited for the official letter first . Aimst didn't even ask a single cent , they only ask me for fax number and they sent the provisional letter and wait for the official letter to come .

Yesterday , i got offer letter from usm-kle . i guess i better go there . ( I did applied for it before, but i'm not sure i will get it since they only want 40 people . )

Oops my bad. *insert sarcasm note into previous post*

A lot of my friends told me what I just mentioned, saying how doctors are leeching off the community - ie charging heaps for simple advice. Also, constant attacks regarding views on traditional/alternative medicine which normally renders me speechless. Some how I feel that they want to bring you down so they can feel good about themselves. This is back in Malaysia though.

Ah, life of a med student/doctor.

good. Well, my opinion is, ditch AIMST and MAHSA, and go for USM. USM should be far better than those two. See what MAHSA is doing? you pay up stuff, sorta get one of your foot in first, then seal the deal! they desperately need students (as from what you've explained)
