Do you offer engraving services? It's about GBP48 with engraving included in the UK. smile.gif

Actually I think medical students should use cardio 3 steths. It's loud so we can pick up signs more easily. Moreover a stethoscope can last very long, that extra dollars will even put in the long run.

You're choosing uni based on food and location? How about going there and talking to the seniors? It will only be a fraction of 250k-300k you're about to spend anyway...

time has really changed.....now students choose their med schools....instead of the other way round....

may i suggest a simple test to determine the quality of a local med school?...if they beg you to join them, you have many choices to choose from, non of them is of any quality....

if it is well known to be difficult to qualify to enter, you are not sure if they will accept you in spite of straight a results....then it is a quality med school.....and there is probably only one in this category now.....

I can think of 8 that qualify that criteria, but I'm not very sure they are better than others.

I'm torn when giving advice to future medlets. So, which ones are the better ones? (private uni) My list has always been IMU, Monash, and maybe AIMST. Not so sure about NuMed.

aimst only looks difficult because they reserve most of the places for their own foundation students, and jpa scholars.....it's to 'guarantee' all places are filled from a large cohort of foundation students they take in....that is NOT taking in the best.....

both monash and numed have watered down their selection process so much, they are actually quite easy to get in now.....just as long as you have that 500k+....monash is ignoring the isat results they still insist applicants pay money to sit....and numed has now dropped the ukcat test completely, as now it is clear non of the graduates will be able to work in uk.....

If they ask me, I'll tell them to do other course. HO training is very poor now. hospitals don't need HO. Next 5 years you can see doctors driving taxi.

True, it is getting crowded in Malaysia, opportunities are getting less in UK and Aus too. They really should implement the pre-intern/HO exam to sift out unqualified candidates. Even with that I can sense loop holes and cash bribing.

Heard from a senior RMO telling me that even RMOs here are having hard time finding jobs, let alone interns. Unless you're in surgical training programs or OnG training programs, they will provide you with placements and organize jobs; physicians pretty much have to find their own despite having entered the training program.

oh well, taxi drivers with MBBS/MD ain't so bad, at least you have adequate communication skills to talk to passengers tongue.gif or deal with drunks.

overqualified taxi drivers?... then again... there is no specific requirement to drive a taxi or taxi sapu for that matter...

who knows... if taxi driver can earn more than a govt doctor... maybe doctors will be attracted to become taxi drivers.. eg;

Dr.Xyz
Pemandu Teksi Berlesen,
Kawasan lembah Klang,
MBBS, Full MMC Reg No.12345.

...

It's just like some doomsayers forecasting the imminent collapse of the economy.
Someone please share with me which professional group unable to find employment or fail to make a living. Doctors are still among the highest professional earners and even if there is a drop of 50%, it is still comparable with other professions.
