Technically, it's not "posting", as there is no central agency employing doctors and assigning hospitals like Msia....
It getting jobs....these are always contract jobs of specific tenure and they will always be looking for the next job....until they reach consultant level and get a tenured job...

yeah, it was very active when my relatives started their medical education. Thanks for sharing all the valuable inputs.
I think there is still a good future going forward for competent doctors. Private medical centres like Sunway are going through a rapid expansion and so are others like Columbia Asia.
Government hospitals and clinics are swarmed with people due to the higher cost of private medical care and the shrinking purchasing power. Despite the perceived oversupply of doctors, many doctors are still being pushed to the limits. Everybody wants an able assistant to save their own skin, and not much attention is paid to helping the less able ones. Basically what you learn in college will determine how good you are though they are exceptions.
I dread what will happen if the budget tomorrow makes further cuts to the healthcare sector.

QUOTE(confirm @ Oct 26 2017, 02:25 PM) Not sure more are applying this year in view of the drop the previous year as they think maybe easier to secure places this year. Also top UK universities have done well in the ranking process this year.

What will happen if a JPA scholar rejected Housemanship offer and went somewhere else to do other medical-related jobs?

QUOTE(EricRoxz @ Nov 2 2017, 02:05 AM) What will happen if a JPA scholar rejected Housemanship offer and went somewhere else to do other medical-related jobs? That is in violation of the scholarship bond condition. He has to pay up in full to JPA, and the guarantor will be sued too. This post has been edited by Stamp: Nov 2 2017, 08:38 AM

Full amount as in the tuition fees and living expenses right? Are there any interest rates involved here? Must pay all in one shot? 😱😱😱 This post has been edited by EricRoxz: Nov 4 2017, 12:10 PM

hi everyone, I was recently introduced to this forum and discussion. I am a practicing physician in United States and have worked here for the past 10 years. It is getting more difficult to get into US (due to mass migration of docs who were in UK previously). Having said that, once you get a residency position, and pass your board exams, the future is still good here. I recently started a blog at foreignbornmd.com It is a self-funded venture and focuses on the financial aspects of doing your USMLE/residency interviews in America. Please message me if you have questions on this.

QUOTE(zeng @ Nov 14 2017, 10:46 PM) Good endeavour, my friend. I hope many locals do seek your valuable advice. Thank you! My only problem is to get connected to those who are serious about coming to the US for residency. I am available if anyone wants to PM me about specific questions or details. I have worked hard for 10+ years, and I am seeing evidence of my success (net worth = > 2 million!). However, it is definitely getting harder for international graduates to get into residency programs because Medicare did not increase residency spots when there are more US medical students graduating. As such, there are a lot of preparation ahead of time in order to be a competitive candidate. The good thing about United States is once you get into residency + pass Boards = attending. Even in family medicine or internal medicine, that means a guaranteed income of minimum 175-200K, most of the time, you can earn more if you work hard. Especially with challenges in getting into specialist slots in UK and we all know the issues trying to become a specialist in Malaysia, this is a good option for many medical school graduates. Anyway, I hope this is helpful to you all.
