Hi, calling for all active MTG players out there....

I know there's another thread "Trading Card Game", but the purpose of this thread is for all the active players to share tourney infos, current deck and metagame discussion.

Guys pls state where do u usually play. For me, Friday(FNM) at Comic Corner Subang Jaya, and Saturday at The Summit USJ or Century Comic at Old Klang Road(FNM).

2nd in then . Usually play at 2020 in midlands one-stop penang.

What do you mean by nice stuff?

I mean can get alot of nice card or not. coz some shop really hardly update their card folder 1...and their price are not update as well.

Thanks, my deck? hmm.... I don't really have a proper deck actually because I change my deck frequently. Anyway now using a GB deck. Well, you can say casual but I do sometimes join some tournaments when I am free.

^ btw, it's called shock lands not dual lands

i noe la, some will not understand if i say shock land ma...in fact it is a dual land, since it have 2 basic land type.ppl call it shock land coz it deals 2 dmg to urself when u need it comes into play untapped.

btw i have complete sets of all the shock lands liao

my deck is multi colour card,main cards are the two gold card,
1 is legacy weapon and another 1 i forgot the name already,
not planning to play again,maybe i'll show my deck to u all later

i used to play it back ages ago during ICE AGE time.
that time 30-40% of my school play, so just join in.
since an edition set or expansion only lasts 1-2 years as Standard Type for tourney, it was too expensive to keep up with it. better spend money for other things.

now once awhile, i still have a game or two with my old school buddies with our rotting decks.

icic....i started not long, but get addicted damn fast. yeah it is quite an expensive hobby, always empty my wallet...

btw for whoever retired magic player, if u wan u can sell to me ur old cards(looking for certain card rite now), some of them have reprint in new set and thus can be played in current tournament, such as wrath of god, bird of paradise, all the pain lands, etc.

my fren jason yap is top 10 or 20 in msia now...

just moved to penang, a casual player started early last year with kamigawa sets.

Aarrrhh, Magic the Gathering ....

My white angel deck was unstopable back then (during the 7th edition). Cards like Serra Angel is enough to send terror to anyone who is foolish enough to encounter me (got other card also la )

And my greeny Wurmy deck. An Argothian Wurm (4 to cast, 6/6 with trample) is enough to win the game, what more having 4 of them on the table .

And my Sliver deck . One Sliver's ability shares with the rest of the Slivers .

the last time i played was 5 years ago using stronghold deck, heh quite a powerful stuff with lotsa regenerates creature. bcos of lack of active mtg player among frens, i stepped down to mtg on pc, duels of the plainswallker (kewl version). on 2003, mtg release the mtg:battleground. a lil bit off than the original game play result in boring and annoying. Salute

now with all the dual lands and pains land(all 10 of them, allies and enemy color), u can make deck with 4 or 5 colors without color screw.

Hmmm, 3 to cast , 1/1 creature. There's a card called Solari Assassin (i think) during the Tempest deck. Same attributes as above but only 2 to cast . It was later became a banned card from tournaments.

I think it's better to have at lest a card which can attack and defend itself. Knowing white and red cards are full of those direct damage attack, you won't even have time to use the card the next round. IMHO la

p.s: latest decks are way more powerful n superb.

This card is very powerful especially against those small creature, but it give hazard to the controller as well. But it can combo with this.

The avatars are not bad la, but it's casting cost is really high to use them.

The Toybox of coz is for Pokemon u refer to. Another 1 is at lvl 2 call Wolf Shop that 1 Wednesday nite got FNM. And if u lucky enuff u may see me play in the Cyber Café at lunch time with my fren.

The cards are only used once a year. During CNY time nothing better to do then play MTG with my cousin.

look for me again afteer prerelease, sure will hav extra tat time!

pain lands goes around $25 to $35... Tat is IF the owner wanna release em. dual lands oso same, but prices range from $45 to $65... maybe higher. (this price range is roughly my estimate after lookin how players buy sell stuff. i sold my one and only dual land (sacred foundry) i cracked from a pack for $50... (i dun buy packs often...)

yosei i tink can get around $20-$25... not so sure now if fren wanna sell or not. hahaha. dude, scarab u selling how much?

for guildpact prerelease i wont b going, but i'm raelly speculatin the price of izzet guildmage. any1 got any ideas of wat the price wil be going?

the izzet guildmage, anyway it is a uncommon, max it will go is RM 8-10, like putrefy and lightning helix

the power lvl of the guildmage is very debatable, some says its dumb, others say ok, while the remainin says its OWNAGEZZZ!!!

i do hope i can get em at $1 each like how i got my other GMs

i believe u can, but not after prerelease, coz prerelease a lot of ppl donno how to value card, u can get cards cheap there, especially from newbie

i got my selesnya GMs for $1 each 1 month after prerelease from pro player who buys packs by the dozens...

Izzet GM + Desperate Ritual + Lava Spike = 100000000 dmg

aiyo...u talk like as if this guildmage is same power level as those from ravnica...this izzet guildmage is definetely at putrefy or lightning helix level....i mean the price la...ahaha....

also u can't do tat 100000000dmg combo like tat...it just doesn't work...u only can copy spells on the stacks, so u can't copy anymore after it resolve and gives u the mana...or u can copy as long as u hav mana but b4 the spell resolve...sounds confusing??hahaaha...believe me i'm confident with my knowledge in ruling

I just went to see what's happening in the world of Magic and I must say, cards are getting better (ex-"professional" Magic here )



Haha, some say this card got printing error coz some taught that only "Flying Creatures can't attack you" but Wizards later said its the right printing.



what does Double strike do ?



and what does Vigilance do ?

1) have 5 available mana, preferably red and the guildmage in play.
2) play lava spike, splicing desperate ritual (u will use 3 mana, but the spell cost is still one red mana of the lava spike. Read further on Splicing in composite rules)
3) use the remaining 2 mana to play the desperate ritual itself and let it resolve. DO NOT LET THE LAVA SPIKE + SPLICED DESPERATE RITUAL spell resolve!
4) Now u have 3 mana from desperate ritual. use the 3 mana to activate Izzet GM's sorcery copy ability, copying THE ORIGINAL LAVA SPIKE + SPLICED RITUAL.
5) now u have one COPY on the stack, and the ORIGINAL underneath.
6) let the COPY resolve, doing 3 dmg and adding 3 mana from spliced desperate ritual!! DO NOT LET THE ORIGINAL COPY RESOLVE!
7) from your new and fresh 3 red mana, use Izzet GM's ability again....

... and again...

till u feel warm and fuzzy inside!



the swiftblade have 1 FIRST STRIKE dmg in First Strike dmg phase.... and then ANOTHER 1 dmg in the Normal dmg phase. It can kill a 2/1 creature and does not die coz it does 1 first strike dmg. It can kill a 2/2 creature but dies coz it does 1 first strike dmg and 1 normal dmg. it can deal 2 dmg if it hits a player (1 first strike dmg and 1 normal dmg).



a shortform of 'attacking does not cause it to tap'... u should know wat it does..

invoke the firemind, i think it's just another overrated card....imagine drawing 1 card for 4 mana, 2 card for 5 mana, or replace card with dmg....u better play electrolyze(uncommon) instant fire/ice combination

invoke the firemind, as its name says, is only useful if used together with Mr. Firemind itself... u draw the cards, firemind does the dmg

By the way, i was trying to build a casual deck based on Iscochron Scepter. (That 2 mana artifact which let you to imprint and copy spell)
Can it work with Orim's Chant with Kicker cost?

Orim's Chant (W)- Instant
Creatures can't attack you this turn.
Kicker-(W), If you pay the kicker cost, target player can't cast any spells this turn.

If this really works, i can really get Timewalk every turn (Almost like timewalk, but he still can only drop land...wakakakak)
Or make things worse for opponent, add 3 Blinding Angels in the deck.

lava spike and desperate ritual i can give for free, but any1 wan it hav to go FNM site meet me, and don misunderstood, i dun hav unlimited stock, maybe will have couples of extras (around 5-6) to give away only...

Goblinsk8er - the combo u saying is a very popular combo played at pro level tournament. besides orim's chant, they hav other target to imprint as well, fire/ice, counterspell, boomerang, etc.... this deck is japanese's favourite

edit: 7chai, watery grave goes for RM60, or trade wih any guildpact dual lands

I can't catch up with the expansions already after they raise it to RM12 per pack last year.
Used to buy damn lot of packs per week..(almost 8-10 packs per week)
Sigh, that was before Uni started....Now, stay in hostel damn sad. Need to pay rent and food.
I missed the Tempest Exodus days...During those n00b days, i was dumb enough to trade away my Recurring Nightmare with 4 Rootbreaker Wurms.
