QUOTE(7chai @ Feb 27 2006, 05:37 PM) erm... it's not a card, it's a format actually as explained by cdwk2383 in his earlier post QUOTE(cdwk2383 @ Feb 27 2006, 07:51 PM) for this format now, with 1 rav starter n 2 guildpact booster, u definitely need to build a deck with 3 main color. choose ur 3 strongest color, and include around 14-18 creatures, 6-10 spells(including accelerator/signet) ,and around 15-17 lands(depend on how many accelerator and the bounce land u include). to be honest i haven't played magic since the 8th ed and during my 2 year stay in magic i've stayed to playing contructed and have NEVER tried drafting or sealed before. since i'm interested in making a return my friend suggested that i join a sealed tournament held locally here in 2 weeks time. so doing a bit of research first lor tip no1- bounce land is good, tat is 2 land in 1 card, in this slow format, the tempo lost is worth the extra land drop will get. tip no2- u can cut 1 land for every 2 accelerator(bop, farseek, signet)u put in ur deck, example if u play 2 accelerator n 16 lands, then when u play 4 acce, 15 land is sufficient tip no3- dont bother playing 1 drop except those with decent ability, such as thoughpicker witch or the elvish skysweeper tip no4- avoid playing card tat will lose u card advantage, eventhough sometime can gain u card advantage, example, gaze of gorgon, and pump spells such as gather courage (edit: if u play it hav to be very careful of when to use it) if u hav doubt for some certain card's playbility or how good is it for sealed, pls do ask thanks for the tips, will keep them in mind |

QUOTE(cdwk2383 @ Feb 28 2006, 12:28 AM) actually there is no 3 more powerful color, when i say 3 most powerful color means the 3 most powerful color of wat u opened. oh you can do that with apprentice? i've never tried before. thank for the tip but for combination of 3 color tat can be brought together easily is red white green and white green black. normally these 2 combination will be more powerful la. if u do a bit of study on the guilds of ravnica and guildpact then u will know wat i mean u can always use apprentice to generate a sealed deck card pool and try to build a deck from there edit: btw i was at ipoh yesterday for a PTQ sealed deck tourney, lol! oh u were here ah last week? you saw anyone getting a foiled overgrown tomb (or one of the other tap lands, can't remember which) that's my friend |

QUOTE(7chai @ Feb 28 2006, 08:48 AM) lol. glad u do XDQUOTE(evofantasy @ Feb 28 2006, 12:08 PM) the 3 best color depends ur pack that u open (or the 2 main colour in ur theme deck that u picked and 1 colour of ur choice in the packs u open) just downloaded MWS. still experimenting with it. thanks i normally go for green in any deckc ause its the easiest to use besides great mana provider to provide u wit momentum for the game... never use blue as they require too much timing and it is the hardest to use among the 5 main colors... dun get apprentice... get MWS it is way betetr and they got their own server so u dun even need to use the old ip address connect stuff lol... QUOTE(cdwk2383 @ Feb 28 2006, 08:11 PM) actually blue is very good, can gain a lot of card advantage, a lot of tricks, but u need a lot of experience n skills to utilize it. i'm pretty much a noob now after not playing magic for so long. so i suppose i better avoid blue |

i tried my first game of casual drafting today and it was a total disaster
i got nervous mid-way through the draft since i was really slow. so eventually i just picked whatever cards that suited my colour. i ended up with a blue-black deck which couldn't decide whether it's a control or aggro deck. sigh. ipoh players aren't that friendly either especially to noobs so i was rather made fun of also. sigh |

QUOTE(cdwk2383 @ Mar 12 2006, 08:41 AM) haha...poor little guy....once upon a time ago those players tat think they "pro" also make fun of me. Just prove ur strength to them, i mean practice n practice until u are good, and prove them wrong, shame on them! at least this is wat i did well i went for gpt manila today. didn't do that well either didn't get any nice foils. i sold my 6 boosters for rm50. turns out there was a steam vents and burning tree shaman in those 6 packs QUOTE(Guenhwyvar @ Mar 12 2006, 01:51 PM) well there isn't many places to ipoh now is there? i guess i'll just have to earn the respect from those seasoned players and not expect any kinda sympathy from them just because i'm a noob |
