guys, 15r se or 14r se?currently ordered the 14z, but i was quite worried for its unremovable batt and lack of usb port. plus with the 14z i3 price, i could get an i5 15r SE! one extra thing i can see with 14z is that it has ssd, and its thin. but 15/14r se both has backlit keyboard. im torn in between. enlighten me brotha!

14z could probably last you longer on a single charge.
But if you are a hardcore gamer, I would recommend you to stay away from all non-removable batteries.

this isnt for me, for my gf. so i believe the power and everything else is enough for her. wont it hurt the batteries if u plugged in while using it? im actually quite attracted to 14/15r se backlit keyboard which isnt available for 14z

It will automatically swap when it detects a program/application that requires high graphic performance.

I bought Dell 14r special edition at PC expo. Same price with dell online 2049 but with free upgrade to 8gb ram, mcafee 15 months antivirus, free belkin bag and wireless mouse and claim a free mini speaker.
Was comparing it to the Lenovo G480 at 1899, difference being GT635m and win8 and 1TB hdd. But I went with Dell because of the design, better GPU GT640m and more USB ports.
Hope I made a wise decision.

I'm currently using my Inspiron 14r special edition, i7.

I have a question, why is the color different compared to my previous laptop, i'm having difficulties when the graphic I printed out is like 30% different from what I did.

Any idea on this?

You need to calibrate the screen first.

May I ask where your brother use it? Don't block any of the inlet / outlet air vents. The i7 processor generate lots of heat.
If you feel there is problem with hardware, give Dell a call, describe your problem, they will guide you to do online diagnosis. If all else fail, they will send technician to your house to look at it.

lee_what sifu is right.
If you don't have any special tools or software to help, win7/8 has a inbuilt calibration tool to do visual calibration (not the most accurate).
http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows...te-your-display

However, most laptop screen does not have the wide gamut to display all colour accurately (you need some high-end screen in high end laptop. Alternatively, connect your laptop to a good external screen with IPS panel).
