Is the 14rSE i5 worth the buck?
When compared to a similarly priced lenovo z480, which one would be better?

QUOTE(satsugai @ Oct 11 2012, 12:29 AM) Hey, im planning to buy a 14r se from digital mall this friday, any idea which shop i should go to? Not buying online as I dont have a credit card/need it rather urgently. Also, would i be getting it for 2799 or is that an online only price? I would suggest you to buy from the Dell website though. Thanks in advance. 1. Most of the units do not come with backlit keyboard. 2. The models sold online all come with backlit keyboard. (Used to be optional, but Dell changed it.) The 14rSE i5 spec was priced around RM 2,150 when I surveyed at lowyat, could have been cheaper if I haggle for it, but still, no backlit. Not that the backlit keyboard is important, just to let you know that there are better options. On the other hand, the Y480 from lenovo packs an even more monstrous spec, and is also priced cheaper than the 14rSE as well. (comes with backlit =D) |

QUOTE(satsugai @ Oct 11 2012, 01:00 PM) Dell has good reputation for its customer service. As for Lenovo, though may not be the best, but I do not hear much complaints either. The chance is, you are unlikely to get a faulty laptop, big companies do have good quality control(I believe). But mate, choice's yours. I am merely giving you my 2 cents worth =) |

QUOTE(alive88 @ Oct 12 2012, 12:02 AM) guys, 15r se or 14r se?currently ordered the 14z, but i was quite worried for its unremovable batt and lack of usb port. plus with the 14z i3 price, i could get an i5 15r SE! one extra thing i can see with 14z is that it has ssd, and its thin. but 15/14r se both has backlit keyboard. im torn in between. enlighten me brotha! 14z could probably last you longer on a single charge. But if you are a hardcore gamer, I would recommend you to stay away from all non-removable batteries. |
