I don't get it, why Proton can produce a normal spec 1.6FLX for export, and didn't bother doing it for the local market, not everyone who wants the 1.6 FLX to be a "SE" that just shouts "boy racer", I would gladly have the option to have a standard executive spec 1.6 FLX without all the leather seats and all.

I think the 1.6 FL with the normal 4 speed auto is still on sale, but hard to find stock. It's still listed on Proton Edar's website. But yes I know, the whole point of getting the FLX is having the awesome CVT gearbox.
Anyway maybe it's possible to get the FLX SE and then remove the bodykit to make it look more normal.
PS I haven't seen many FLX SEs around, but if you think they're boyracer-ish, every time I look at the driver it's a female

Added on June 8, 2012, 2:45 amCall for bulk, lai lai lai *updated with rear strut* The strut bar reduces body roll in corners, right? Any side effects? Another thing I can't stand is that when I corner on a bumpy surface (specifically KL Sentral going to Jalan Damansara, joining just before the National Museum), the car tends to sway left and right. That's due to the rear torsion beam suspension?

If it will be mostly driven by your mom, the 1.3 should suffice.
The 1.3 Campro paired with CVT is not underpowered like the BLM auto as the CVT is more efficient in delivering the engine power to the wheels. For normal city drive or even highway, it does perfectly fine.
Agree. I've never described 1.3 manual as underpowered, even with five on board. With the CVT low end torque should be even better. Why not test drive the 1.3 FLX first.
