QUOTE Rodgers knows there will always be a section of Kop critics he will never win over. But he will not lose sleep over the fans for who nothing will be good enough. He said: “There are three types of supporters at every club. No 1 are those who love their club and will love their manager whoever it is because Liverpool is their life and their passion. “The second group are supporters who will accept you but to earn their real respect you will have to be successful, and that’s fine. “The third group are the critics and you never change them ever. Ever. If you win 4-0 it should have been five, if you win the league you should have won three. “But I will never worry about that group, because you can never affect them. “I only want to work with the people who love the club. I have always had good relations with the media and supporters and they are realistic as well. “They are beginning this cycle of realism as well. They want to be winners, because I do as manager, and so do the players. But in order to do that the cycle has to begin somewhere. “I’m open and honest and understand not everybody will want me here — but that’s part of the dance.” the bold part is win. |

QUOTE But Rodgers said: 'I have the ultimate respect for Kenny Dalglish. My door is always open for Kenny Dalglish. This is his home. [QUOTE]'As the chairman said, he is the heart and soul of this club. His love for this club is unrivalled. He is the best player in the history of this club. 'This is a prestigious club and this is a guy who has a wonderful history here and will continue to have a great future in terms of Liverpool. I can’t worry about that. I can’t say anymore about a man I respect. 'The only way you can overcome that is by winning. 'I am not here to win any race or competition. 'But what I know is history judges you as a manager and hopefully in time people will look back at what I have achieved here and I can walk beside these people. 'But there is no way I can try and overtake someone like Kenny Dalglish. All I can do is be myself.' What a man. Wise with words and good when dealing with press. |

QUOTE "From our point of view, we did all the right things. We approached the clubs we needed to approach, and conducted ourselves properly at all times. "It is disappointing, then, that Dave Whelan felt the need to run the kind of sideshow he conducted via Sky Sports News and various other media outlets. "To be honest, I always thought John Bishop was the biggest comedian in the north west, but Dave Whelan seems to have taken that mantle over the last couple of weeks! Ayre had a dig on Whelan. |

QUOTE(ALeUNe @ Jun 5 2012, 10:17 AM) True but the main engines that operate Barcelona are Iniesta and Xavi, and the both of them are central midfielders. Lucas is more of a Busquets?
Gerrard is aging and has fitness issues, we won't be able to depend on him to carry us throughout the season anymore. Adam, Downing are in no way similar to Xavi and Iniesta, time to dip into the transfer market or look at our academy. Suso and Pacheco are rated quite highly aren't they? There's Aquilani but speculations has it that he was unable to adapt to living in England hence him going back to Italy over and over again. |

Was it Martinez or was it Rodgers that deals with training when players are tired (supposedly when you practice when you're tired, you'll notice mistakes and rectify them, so that in real games you aren't prone to make such mistakes?
Added on June 5, 2012, 8:05 pm QUOTE(leftist @ Jun 5 2012, 08:50 PM) jerat + gylfi??? Carroll doesn't need to be dropped. Any players can fit the tiki taka.if we want to follow barca way..Carroll should be drop & be replace by skilful forward..problem is they dont come cheap Caroll can score with his feet too (remember the 3-0 hammering he gave us when he was playing for NUFC?) What i'm more concerned is what kind of system would our gaffer Brendan Rodgers implement. He did say he needed time to mould the team's playing style and shape. And I believe that all of our players aren't training now, they are on holiday? This post has been edited by hyperyouth_firepower: Jun 5 2012, 08:05 PM |

QUOTE(bitebug @ Jun 5 2012, 09:45 PM) ?????? < is correct. He won't be big name, no super player, probably not even from the big Spanish, German, Brazillian leagues. Maybe another diamond, from the unknown leagues, finnish or other obscure leagues, another hyypia perhaps. Work ethics is somewhat what we will be drilled upon. |

It depends on how you use those work ethics. If you set Spearing out to run around like a headless chicken then obviously his lack of talent will be exposed and eventually exploited. But it's not completely impossible to either expand or limit his strengths and flaws by training him to play smartly. Brendan is said to be a drill master so maybe with the right training method, a player like Spearing can be more than just a headless chicken. |
