You have to take into aspect like those years, we were elite teams with quality players. While now, we have not much of quality players and people starting to call us mid table team. You have to know that the premier league is getting tougher and tougher each year. these things count. I, for one , think that I am ok with both idea of changing/sticking with manager. I do question some of KD's starting line up though. Just to clear things that I m neither pro KD or anti kd.

i like the idea of raiding from germany league.. some player like gundogan, lasogga, holtby, schurrle really caught my eye when watchin in youtube.. know using youtube as scouting material is a joke but it's better than using money-ball method...

A point to ponder - i read with much emotion, desperation, and sheer frustration, that Malaga is able to clinch 4th place in La Liga and qualify for CL, but what has transpired in Liverpool is pure question, question and question...sure Malaga is playing in Spain, but they achieved what their owner set-out early - that they need to spend smart, despite relatively modest investment by bringing in Toulalan, Demichelis, Baptista (flop from Arsenal) and Horseface...together with a young and enterprising coach Manuel Pellegrini, their achievement is something akin to wet dream for Reds fan...Unlike ManCiteh....their sheikh is relatively modest, shrewd in fact if i look at their control acquisition - Toulalan cost not more than 10 million euros...joris mathijsen for 2.2 million, Demichelis for 2.5 million +/- and Horseface for FREE.... Malaga is able to mould a team capable of challenging in La Liga...of course the domination will alwiz be Real or Barca, but it's nice and a tad more interesting for colourful team like Malaga to give them a run for their money...but the morale of the story is, Malaga need at least 2 season before they are able to clinch CL...they finished 11th before the current campaign. As much that I am dissapointed with our standing and in our signings, i really hope KD will be given his crack at the title next season...for i know that KD is absorbing all the pressure now..which is essential for rebuilding...i cant foresee another rookie manager to withstand what KD did and start a proper rebuilding...no way..even a veteran Hodgson cant outlive 6 months on the job. Having said this, also hope that FSG can make available substantial investment for KD, no point backing someone but have his hands tied..no?

I raised this weeks ago.  Remove KD if
-you already got a proper manager lined up. 
-and if you're ready to back the manager if he wants the $$ to revamp the squad and bring in his own brigade..

other than that, it will be joke to expect someone to come in and tell him to work with AC, Downing, Adams...

Pep. if he comes, give him 5 years. No less.  Because it won't be about getting to CL again.  Its about rebuilding the whole philosophy.  Can the owners, media wait that long? don't think so...

AVB? good tactician maybe.  Smart plans maybe.  But complete failure in working with big names.  What makes us think our players will be humble enough to listen to him?

Martinez and Brendan? Do they really have something better to offer as compared to KEnny? Do convince me.

We need a big name manager. I may sound like I want instant success, but getting a manager like Martinez or Rodgers means we could lose players like Suarez.

AVB isn't that bad but he lost the dressing room to experienced players like Terry and Lampard. I can see the same happening here.
I'm a Rafa fan, and I think he would have done great things if he had 100m to spend when he was here, but I also saw him losing it in his final season and playing into ol Whiskeynose's mind games. Still, couldn't be worse than Rodgers and Martinez.

Guardiola would be a dream but then again we've only really seen him do great things with a great team.

Gasping for air? We have so many managers who are more qualified and reputable than Martinez available at the moment.

Rafa Benitez, Capello, Hiddink just to name a few.

Not happy with the selection of Martinez doesn't mean we are regretting our stand to replace Kenny Dalglish.

Capische? You clearly still bitter about the decision to remove KK and trying to vent your little childish frustation on non KD supporters.

Anyway, looking back at EPL's most successful manager and you'll have this

Now what is common about them is that they are NOT BIG NAMES when they came to MU, Arsenal and Chelsea.  They were bigger names around that time.  The press even asked `Arsene WHO?' .  Of course, Fergie and Mourinho already won some titles but it was still a gamble, considering that it was Scottish and Portuguese football...

What is clear is that all 3 have clear football philosophies.  They are clear on what they want to achieve on the field and how to achieve it.  And the players respond to them from day 1....

Well, its always a gamble.  AVB was touted as someone similar.  Rafa was also seen as someone with cutting edge footballing ideas (although I don't think he was a failure in his time with Liverpool). Perhaps what these 2 did not have was man-management skills.  Fergie knew his politics well, pampering and protecting his star players while going head on against the trouble makers.  And we all know Mourinho can make players run past a wall for him...

Looks like we're approaching all the candidates in FSG's list. Martinez probably has equal chance of landing the job with the other candidates, so relax guys, he hasn't got the job yet.
