I have my doubts over whether or not Rafa is the man to take us forward but there is little doubt that Liverpool is close to his heart. This is the one of many acts that has cemented his place in our hearts. Attending the Hillsborough Memorial even after having left the club.

So Rafa is now the 'last resort'?

I hope for whatever it is, Rafa gets it.

He's got unfinished business. Give him the support he needs.

Did you guys know that Rafa actually has his own ipad program, called "Globall Coach" (yes, Globall, double "L") that actually is a very powerful tool? And yes, he developed this after Inter Milan.

This guy really never stops thinking about football!

That app cost like 60 euros!

Rafa Benitez breathes football day and night and he is certainly a stat junkie.

However I got a feeling that FSG is trying to avoid reappointing him back as the manager for the fear that he is too aggresive in his demands and want complete control of the club management from right down from academy to the first team.

After all, he is the man who got the balls to issue ULTIMATUMs to his bosses!

Nuff said. Get this guy back to the club ASAP.

Rafa ticks all the boxes. Good CL record, knows the current Liverpool structure, proven ability to work under tight budget and incredible constraints.

If FSG wants to operate like a corporation instead of a football club then Rafa is totally out of the question. Rafa is outspoken and is essentially a whistle blower. But if FSG believe in its own ability to run the club, then it should not even be a problem.

Rafa and FSG will not work especially with DoF above him. He should stay away for now. Lets hope he come back one day.. but not now.

This this made me sad when remember alot of fans discredit him in his last season with us. He was the one started to revealed the true faces of H&G and led to the massive uprising from fans. Now only those fans realize to be consistently be in CL every year is not easy. He made LFC big in europe again. 2 final in 3 years and winning one is not easy feat.

Ayre already mentioned there wont be DOF anymore. The job is split into more roles.

Imo, the reason Rafa made noises about wanting to control transfers was because Parry was incompetent and was undermining him - ultimately made his job difficult. It might had been a different story had he worked under a talented and competent CEO or a DOF for that matter.

Look at what Rafa did with the Academy. He essentially broken up the academy and let various people run it - as opposed to only one person running the entire show.

That's about the same idea as breaking up the DOF role into multiple roles. I get the idea behind it. It should run more efficiently as accountability is easier to manage as responsibilities are branched out into areas of expertise. It's cheaper to sack one of many than sacking one person who holds all responsibilities.

Wish a champions league experience manager will be with us.....i dont see martinez as the good candidates..

AVB ? why not...he can ask falcao to join us...

benitez ?? well i'm sure a lot of fan ask him out on his last season..but now some fan want him back ??? my eye tear drop when i saw him in that video...why not we take him back

last but not least, i just rewind the video to see those Man city sang Hey jude when they won the premiership...im sure we wish that we can sing YNWA when we won the league next year....

our owner should take the blame if they hire an unknown manager since good manager can bring good player in...just pity king kenny was out...

I suppose klopp has also rejected us like brendan did.

This is the difficult part.It is easier to poach on unemployed manager given how FSG are conducting this now.

Brendan rogers and klopp didn't want to be one of the many candidates for job. What if they end up not getting the job?

Won't the fans lose respect and support after learning that their manager flirted with another job?

To simply put it,brendan or klopp would have considered if they were the only one being offered the job or at least top of the priority. As it stands all possible candidates have the same chances as the other. This might take a big hit on the ego of certain managers.

I don't fancy brendan to take the up the job too, although it's tempting to try him, but we need an experienced manager for that. At this point, it seems rafa is the only manager that I feel is rationally within our reach and would suit us most. though i'll hope pep guardiola can come.. .lol... but somehow, i don't wish capello to come.. pls.. get him out..

LMFAO. This dude is obviously still bitter about Kenny's removal. Spreading the hate.

I'm surprise to see you are still around here. I thought you cut your wrist or jump off the ledge somewhere after your favourite idol got the boot.

The faster you accept reality, the better off you are.

That's a very valid point imo. They will lose respect from their own fans and this is the worst thing that could possibly happen to a manager. Also, I believe it has something to do with the fact that they still had unfinished business in their own club to start another new project in Liverpool. Perhaps not the right time..
