I don't fancy brendan to take the up the job too, although it's tempting to try him, but we need an experienced manager for that. At this point, it seems rafa is the only manager that I feel is rationally within our reach and would suit us most. though i'll hope pep guardiola can come.. .lol... but somehow, i don't wish capello to come.. pls.. get him out..

QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 19 2012, 04:50 PM)
Capello has a lot of experience.Even better record than rafa.

7 Serie A trophies, 5 Serie A cup trophies, 1 Champions League trophy, 2 La Liga titles

I think the poisoned chalice in the name of england national team did a disservice to capello's reputation.

It's not about the record... it's somehow, you'll feel he may not be the right person.. he doesn't suit in. Just like for KD, we knew it's a fantasy, but if you asked me, it's a shame sacking him, given another chance, maybe give him a running contract earlier, and if things don't work out, appoint him as ambassador again would be good. afterall, he's a legend and it's not he's not good, but times have changed.. modern football

will the world laugh at us when we go through all 11 other managers and in the end all rejected us, only our last resort go to rafa? will he even snub us then? lol

There are managers work in smaller clubs or lower league.
There are managers would like to work at Liverpool.
I don't see a problem there.

I'd like us to get a manager not from a lower league or smaller clubs... as I feel it'll be a step back and I'm sure our ambition is back to top 4, not linger in midtable. no disrespect to managers from smaller club, but even reputable managers find it difficult at liverpool, and i feel the challenge will be too great for managers from smaller club

"It's about the football club. We are talking about going forward, not going backwards."

The owner didn't see King Kenny could bring the club forward.
Or the owner saw the club moving backward.

It is something uncalled-for to discredit the owner.
King Kenny needed to do himself justice. The club owner needed justifications.
King Kenny accepted the decision.
What does that imply? KK knew very well he didn't deliver results.

Not every day Sunday. No more 100m transfer kit.
The next manager will have to work on tight budget.

yeah, KD did bring the club forward if you ask me... he changed and inspired the team alot, but he knows, rebuilding work and expectations is high from KOP faithful, so, it's better if he leave and at least his legendary image is in tact. rather than makes thing worse, and he knows, it'll be better to let someone carry on his good work next season. i mean, players form has been inconsistent, but we can see what KD try to do and he's trying bring back the football style we desired... he laid the foundation which is tough, and next manager should carry on his good work... but this time.. i don't think we'll get huge budget for transfer... judging from the the fact they are getting the managers that work with tight budgets previously

I actually rate him quite highly for what he had done at Villa, wanted him to replace Rafa instead of Woy at the time and right now he is doing quite a decent job at Sunderland. But he might still hold a grudge against us when Rafa tried to "tap" Barry away from Villa cheaply, not sure if its against us or just Rafa.

I think he would suit us well. Rebuilding the squad with backing from current owners, I think it will be great with him. Not forgetting he did not work with big budget and yet get results. And when he does get results, I think it's fair to back him up with good transfer kitty so that he can build for further greatness
