Despite what happen, Kenny's still and will always be a Liverpool legend! His contributions to the club be it as a player or a manager will never ever be forgotten! YNWA!
It's pretty naive that some of our fans who wanted Kenny out, would expect replacements with the calibre of Guadiorla or Morinho. Now that the chances of Martinez getting the Anfield managerial role are very high, I wonder the want-Kenny-out gang will be sorry fo what they wish for.
why not? just becos liverpool dunt have ucl spot? they are brought to make liverpool achieve tat... if we already hav ucl spot then KD will still be here
If we don't aim to spend big during the transfer market, then Martinez is the man. His nett spent over the last 3 years with Wigan is -$3.5 million pounds.
I dunno how many of us watches Wigan play, but during our games against them, they look like a good attacking side. Football pundits did mention that Martinez team plays nice football but were unlucky not to get the results.
But then again, wasn't that the story of our season as well? Hmmm, mix feelings..
Anyone would love to have Pep at the moment. Barca are on a different planet.
He did say he wants to take a year off from football. This looks to be true because if he were available, Abramovich would surely give him a box seat during the final of the Champions League. Well it could still happen I suppose.
I have to ask also why Pep would want to come if at all? Would be want to risk jepordising his reputation and therefore value? He'll have to take a side with not much to spend (or maybe we're in for a surprise) into the top four in arguably the most competitive of the 4 big leagues in football.
Then again if he does achieve success with us, he'll achieve immortality.
The above sounds more realistic to me.. Anyways, whoever get the Anfield managerial seat, I hope we as Liverpool fans will give our full support. No one wish for another 'Woy' effect..
If Martinez does make it, I hope Anfield will make him into a world class manager.

I have my doubts over whether or not Rafa is the man to take us forward but there is little doubt that Liverpool is close to his heart. This is the one of many acts that has cemented his place in our hearts. Attending the Hillsborough Memorial even after having left the club.
Rafa Benitez, inside his heart, he'll always be a red!
But I think it's always going to be difficult to fit them in ..
Like I don't think Joe Cole is good when played on the right or left of midfield unless he's right/left in a 4-3-3 but I remember watching him do well in the hole behind a striker. But that's also the same position most people want Gerrard to play in.
As for Aquilani, i never understood why he wasn't given a chance. I think he's a very creative player, full of flair. I know he came from the Italian league and the Premier League may be too physical and that he doesn't tackle enough but as long as he's offering some things attacking-wise, i don't see a problem. But there were rumours he doesn't want to play in England so I'm not sure ..
Both still probably better than what we have, though.
Good point on Aquilani.. It wont be difficult to pick between Henderson or Aquilani
Damage will be great if FSG cocks up with this new manager selection. All in all a very bad decision to sack Kenny after ONE year.
As i have said before: Yanks play soccer, Engerlund play football.
And if you notice, those Kenny haters has gone pretty quiet for the pass few days. Maybe no manager for them to criticize yet. Maybe they are turning their anger towards the owners now.. Suddenly, we start to think whether sacking Kenny was the right move after all.
