I just got my streamyx installed.1MB package for rm77 ( promo ).the 1st few days my connection was 1536kbps down/ 512 up....very constant and even if i restart computer i will still get this connection.But recently i'm getting shit connection such as lowest is 300kbps down and 512kbps up.Average is at 800kbps down.grr!!! i don't mind if i get 1000kbps in average coz it's what i paid for...But not lower than that!

I am from Klang. I have been downgraded to 512 Kbs package since 3rd November although I have been a RM88 subscriber since day 1 . I have been calling them everyday since then and so far, nothing has been done. The technician last wrote a report was on 7th November that they have already check the tm exchange and it's 1 Mb speed.

What they make me do all these while is :-

1. Test my modem and User ID at places who has the streamyx account. Check and see if my speed using my user ID at his/her place is 1Mb. If yes, that means that's nothing wrong with the TM Exchange or whatever they call. * They suspect its my hardware problem *

2. Bring friend's modem and check my house speed. If it's 512 kbs, it could be the cable connecting to my house.

That's what they have ask me to do all these while. For my case, it's my house that stuck with 512 kbs package. I tried at my neighbour's house using my user ID, it's 1 Mb package.

However, till todate, nothing has been done from TM Net.

Is there any available resources who could help me?? TM Net it seems has put my case to its lowest priority by asking me to redo all the basic troubleshooting ie...switch off my anti-virus program and test the speedometer. My speed is still 300+

I certainly hope my new 1 week old modem is not faulty as I was able to connect at 1.5Mbpps when i first got streamyx last week...

Have you checked your SNR margin values ? There could be alot of noise in your copper line.

I couldnt locate the SNR margin thingy in my router setting.. sad.gif

I am using the Streamyx 512k RM77 unlimited package with modem since Mac 2005. The modem is not working now and should they replaced the modem? And if they do, who should be responsible?

Your Line Atteuation is pretty pretty bad!! Too many noice. Have you put Splitter already. If you have, then u a problem.

Call Streamyx if they can lower it.

If cannot, that mean too many streamyx in your area.

Read the stuff below

Line Attenuation
Measure of how much the signal has degraded between the DSLAM and the modem. Maximum signal loss recommendation is usually about 60dB. The lower the dB the better for this measurement.
> 20dB and below is outstanding
> 20dB-30dB is excellent
> 30dB-40dB is very good
> 40dB-50dB is good
> 50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
> 60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues

how about mine? sometime my upload rate at 512kbps, while sometimes at 320kbps, this is same happening to my previous modem/router -- so my guesstimation is lies on TM.Net's line...

Since i moved to new house, my streamyx connection always disconnected. I called TM and reported the problem but they said my streamyx got no problem. I suspected the phone line but when i'm using the phone, the line is very clear.

Can anyone help me with this problem? Its been a headache to me since the line keep disconnected every 3-4 minutes rclxub.gif

My upload also get only 13.1kBps max... in other word, all capped to 30%. T___T

I've tried to read many guides, faqs, and try out even proxy, but still cant get the speed Im suppose to have. Im pretty sure my line is okay, and my PC is clear from virus or worms.

I think they cap me at their DSLAM or something (correct me if im wrong here), I've called them many times, and nothing improve, they just say to call back in two days if I dont get my default speed.

I havent try at another PC or use another modem yet, so before I did that troublesome method, can anyone help me to pinpoint what the problem Im having with my connection? maybe I miss something, or somewhere I havent check yet...

EDIT: Im using RM99 package (Free Modem)

for disconnection problem, i think u better call telekom said that u already called streamyx but streamyx say at their side no problem. that what i do. the telekom guy come and he did something to my line at least 15 minutes and now bye bye disconnect problem. i can stay a month without disconnect. but i keep disconnect to get the faster ip.

its package RM66 for month??
or package RM88 for month??

i made report on yesterday(this is the 4th day im suffering slow download/downstream). to both TM, and Streamyx....i arise my problem on the other thread, but i think i wil make another 1 here, to get more ideas on this..this is the screen shot..

check the bandwidth test from tm website, only get 194.4kbps... far below of 512kbps (RM66 package)
