1. I just prefer to use the 'manual ways'..
2. This is for a root user, meaning root your device. Learn from here!
RootYourDevice
3. install root explorer. download from here!
RootExplorer
4. Use your phone until the phone switches itself off (battery empty)
5. Switch on once more to make sure battery really is 0% (it will then immediately switch off once more)
6. Now, keep switched off (!), plug in charger & leave in charging until 100%
7. When battery is full, switch the phone on, unplug & check if the batter immediately drops 1 or 2 %
8. If battery immediately drops, plug in charger once more (while running phone) & let it charge completely
9. Once charging to 100% is done, don't plug off your charger, open your root explorer, at the top just click mount R/O, then it will set as mounted as R/O.
10.Ok, now open the 'Data' folder.
11.In the 'Data' folder, keep scrolling at the bottom and you will find 'System' Folder.
12.Open the 'System' folder and find 'batterystats.bin'.
13.Now you have to delete the 'batterystats.bin'. How to delete it?
14.Tap the 'batterystats.bin' and it will show the file option, select 'delete'.
15.Once it done, quick the root explorer and use the phone as usual until it switches itself off (battery empty).
16.Please don't charge your phone if the battery are not completely empty.
17.Charge your phone while running phone as usual until it shows 100% battery.
18.make sure that during discharging, don't reboot your phone or the system will create a new batterystats.bin file or if already made, it will get corrupted and you will have to start again from first step
19.Done this in 4 or 5 cycle, i mean the step 15 until step 18.
20.Now enjoy the 'long life' Samsung Battery Life!!
Note: these methods are not permanent and your battery stats may again get messed up any day, then you should repeat the method from first step.
You may try this a few battery tips here.

The USB JIG is useful when your phone crashed and you cannot go into download mode with the 3 buttons. With the phone switched off, just plug in the usb jig and phone will boot into download mode and from there you can reflash your rom. In the SGS II, the usb jig will also erase all traces of flashing but not in the Note
What is rooting and what are its benefits?*credit to benny888
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Rooting an Android phone opens its core functions that aren’t available when you buy it. One of the major benefits is the ability to install apps to the SD card, which saves space on the device. Rooting also enables you to install apps that required access to system files, example - titanium backup , root explorer, adfree, voltage control apps, etc . Commonly use of rooting is to allow installation of alternative roms which is faster and better, more features, and reduced bloatware. Some roms will auto root when you flash your phone
Rooting will not remove your 3rd party apps, data/wipe clean your phone. And the chance of bricking the phone during rooting is close to impossible. Just make sure your phone has at least 50% battery charge. Do refer to the specific methods on how to unroot back
Refer below links to understand more about rooting :
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/04/15/ro...-android-phone/http://www.androidcentral.com/rooting-it-me-some-qaQUICKIE Guide to rooting : Read this if you don't know where /how to get started?1. Rooting will not spoil your phone. Only an idiot /dumb guy will spoil it by rooting. The chance you spoil it is 1 in a million
2. Rooting means warranty void
3. Rooting will not delete/clean any data - all your 3rd party apps, original apps, data, settings etc remains intact
4. If you just want to root ONLY:
- Easiest use ZergrushExploit : any firmware based
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360This tool with a script allows you to unroot phone
5. If you want root plus clockworkmod recovery: - easiest use Chainfire CF Root v5. Make sure you download the right version to match your firmware. Using this will also auto install a CWM app in your phone - quite convenient as you can use app to boot into recovery, download mode, do backup and restore, flash kernels etc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 What is /efs folder?» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
This is a very sensitive system folder that contains Phone-specific information such as the IMEI (encrypted in the nv_data.bin), wireless devices MAC addresses, product code (also in the nv_data.bin), and much more. Often users trying to change product codes or trying to unlock the mobile will end up corrupting data in this location.

If i root and install CWM will it void my warranty?» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
officially yes warranty void
but based on my experience and many others in the sgsII thread, the service center still process foc. only last week a new user brick his few day old sgsII after root n flashing n need motherboard replace he got it done free at service center
however you must be mentally prepared the service center has right to void your warranty

Any recommendation for GPS navigation for galaxy note?» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
I use Sygic Aura - perfect. I switch the licence i bought for sgs II iver to the Note. Beautiful excellent graphics, user friendly n can navigate using coordinates
For papago x5 you need to run spareparts first unselect compatible mode and manually change the biggest folder under navisea/organic and all its subfolders to Note resolution. The overall graphic presentation is poor and menu hanging in middle
Is this really necessary to do. What happen if I lost my iMEI and i did not do a backup ?» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
If you lose your IMEI means : your phone cannot detect your sim card at all, you cannot make and receive calls, you cannot have internet access. If you go to Settings/About Phone/Status/IMEI - you will see a blank ou stated UNKNOWN.
You can try to recover it by either flashing a stock official rom ( full set PDA, PHONE, CSC) or try flash just the modem file. If these failed, your only choice is to send to Service Center to rebuild your rom
The chance of losing the IMEI is very low but if you are a frequent flasher of roms, kernels, modem etc it might happen; these I called accidents. So better backup. Using the app I proposed just takes 1 SECOND. Restoring it another 1 second. Better be safe , preventive than sorry later. Since it is so easy, just do it. Accidents can happen without you knowing and no approval is needed from you to happen. When it happen, don't ask "WHY ME ?"
If you are flashing those HP, Motorola, CSL phones the chance losing your IMEI is very, very high
