Yup once u get ur car u better tint it  asap  to protect your car cabin upholstery against damages due to ultra-voilet rays.
It is worth paying extra for better branded tints bcos of our hot weather & also to protect our skin.

I've alrdy testdrive Prius C few times on hot noon & found out the toyota optional window film Ecotint Ray Barrier's heat rejection is poor.
Lookin at our extreme hot weather, I prefer better heat rejection films than security films. Planning to get V-Kool Elite for front windsreen & V-Kool 55 for the rest window or 3M Crystalline 70 for front windscreen & 3M Crystalline 60 for the rest.

Can anyone enlighten me.. which is a better tint, JPJ compliance & which one is smart tag friendly bcos confuse with different feedback.. rclxub.gif
*
Smart tag friendly is Huper optik X3, TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejection) is almost same as 3M crystalline (a little bit loss to 3M)
3M has very good TSER, on par with VKool, but not really smart tag friendly.

Both Huper Optik X3 and 3M crystalline are ceramic type film, Huper Optik X3 is RM1400 for Prius C and 3M crystalline is RM1800.

Does anyone actually know the specs for the toyota standard solar film? I wonder if I can cancel it.. I really need something that handles heat well.

yesterday i took my car to shine and shield.
for this Shine and Shield PPS coating you get a discount if you join the saimatkong's bulk on his blog. price is 700++ depends. You need to register details here:
link
i added RM160 to do interior protection for shiny dashboard and side doors, as well as for fabric seat treatment to make it more kalis air (wont absorb liquid so fast if spill)

i also did front and back wndshield treatment that last for 8 mths, RM128.
my car halfway done. wash liao, now doing some buffing.

Somebody mentioned earlier that the 2010 Prius was selling for about $118k on mudah.my. You could check up what the current selling prices for those older and different hybrid models I suppose to get a fairly good idea, but I am not sure what it would be for a car like this. I do know they are selling like hotcakes around the world hehe.

From my experience from the bigger prius last time. They only tint and pasang the wheel when the reach our port. So I think you can cancel it but do it asap.

resale value, too early to tell but i believe it will not be best in market but probably reasonable.

how good a deal this car is, depend entirely on u.

if u juz want a zippy city car that's highly practical, this isnt the car for u. get a myvi and blend into the traffic like ninja in shadows.

if u see this car and think "It looks great", then test drive it liao and say "It feels awsm", then by all means buy it if u can afford.

Agree with vey99 say. If can afford. Test drive it. You wont lose anything by test drive it. If you think it suit u then can get it. If not maybe can consider other car. All depends on your needs and wants. If u have bigger family than 4. I think bigger segment c car is bigger. If you just drive yourself and your spouse and 2 kids. It works well in city. hehe

My opinion is exactly the opposite. The car is awesome for jam traffic. You get total quietness & zero vibration in the cabin when the car is stop as the engine is also not running. Of course that is not going to help you in the fuel consumption dept but it is still more fuel economy than any other car out there. So whether you are in big city jam or cruising in your neighborhood, hybrid is still the most fuel economy car and on top of that you get total quietness & zero vibration in the cabin which no other car can compare(except those super luxury b&w or lexus).

Actually Prius city FC is lower than highway FC, save more fuel when you drive in city with moderate jam.

So far I got a round trip 64KM with 24KM/L FC, no ECO mode, avoid EV during pick up, the pick up is actually not bad after four days driving, I'm always the first leading car when the traffic light green on, most of the time on the fast lane or middle lane, driving constantly at 70-80KM/h.

Only going up hill is feeling kinda sluggish, but I didn't push too much, still break in the car.

its not silent most of the time in jam, cos after jam a bit u'd run out of battery and the enjin starts to run to charge the battery.

however, its pretty silent most of the time, even at higher speeds you hear the wind noise and road noise more than anything else, if you switch off ur radio

my route has plenty of slopes and its a little annoying that the prius c struggles a bit, but since i am cruising its not an issue.

i'll find out soon enough when i take it to cameron in a week or so...

That is true if you get stuck in really bad jam. But for stop and go traffic, it should not consume very much battery. Try not to use the EV mode too much as it will result in higher fuel consumption if the battery is low. The best way is to accelerate with ICE up to desire speed and then pulse with EV.
