actually its only from standstill..when ur on the move its very effortless ..a i read the reasonthey did that is to preserve the gearbox n engine n elak u surprise but s*x with car in front during jam ..just keep in mind this like a manual car but someone is changing the gears for u

im not perfect, yup, maybe i do mistakes. Tq 4 pointing up. Rubber band effect indeed related by rubber belt. But for mitsu, maybe due to the certain design on jatco cvt, how it react, trigger the thing that felt like rubberband effect.

I just touch on mitsu coz inspira used it. Yup, it uses steel band. Sorry for my mistakes. But rubberband effect is not appear in punch cvt. Read up more on how punch powertrain history, its from division that created cvt for renault in 50's if not mistaken.

Maybe those who using youtube link can share info since he really an expert on cvt. I just a layman. I believe so many times i mentioned that im a layman :-). For more tech details, thats why i asked u to ask kristof, or prtn drive terrain person who incharge for cvt, m.rapid b arifin.

Hmmm if the clutch is opened (with footbrakes) then the gearbox should already be disengaged from the engine, and the CVT and the car should not be moving.

haha yep anyone can confirm this? because IINM when press brake yes the car is not moving but when u want move on u press the throttle there is some lag rite? u floor it also dint move that fast.. so my method was addressing that lag la..or i misunderstood u

You misunderstood me la.

1. stop car using footbrake, hold footbrake while stopped (open clutch, disengages CVT from engine, no power to the wheels.)
2. When going to move, pull handbrake, then release footbrake. (allow the clutch to close.)
3. Press a little throttle, release handbrake.
4. Profit.

Is this also applicable to IAFM+ variant? Never drove a CVT car before.

Should be, as long as it is a CVT.

I dunno how the IAFM+ Preve is tuned, so the lag from standstill may not be so severe, need to test drive only know.
