QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Mar 29 2013, 01:44 AM) owikh84, any good advice to overclock my i7 3770K? Yes of course, higher vCore will affect both idle and load temps.based on my signature, i tried OC using X.M.P profile since my ripjaws support XMP profile. So I OC to 4.3ghz running 1.075 vcore... Idle temp roughly 42-45 Celsius when push to the max using PRIME95 gets me around 75 Celsius max when H100i fan blast to the max. Is it setting higher VCORE build hotter temperature for idle mode? QUOTE(bulibulizaimon @ Mar 29 2013, 07:02 AM) manage to get 4.7Ghz and went to 98'C, definitely not a golden or special chip. i think this is the best i can go for now, well at list with hyper 212 evo Well done mate. I like you, for never giving up on pushing higher and higher.bulibulizaimon | 3570K | 4.7Ghz | Asrock Z77 Pro4-M | Air Now at least you know how does your chip behave in regards of frequency vs vCore so that you could proceed for better cooler, chip delidding, mobo upgrading as well as RAM overclocking. Good luck! |

How much performance gain will I get from 4.1Ghz to 4.5ghz?
Is it okay to stress to 100% @ 75c ? Cause when overclock to 4.1ghz, during intense stress from prime95 achieve roughly 70c Thank you. |

I believe it depends on the apps/games you use/play. 75C is still a far away from limit aka TJmax of 105C so you would be fine. |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Mar 30 2013, 12:50 AM) (4.5-4.1)/4.1 X 100% = 9.76% improvement. Such as Crysis 3, BF3. Will it show huge improvement? Since I would remain stock on my GTX670 cause is using reference stock cooler I believe it depends on the apps/games you use/play. 75C is still a far away from limit aka TJmax of 105C so you would be fine. Btw what's the ideal Vcore for running 4.5ghz? cause having it set 1.2v seem to have higher idle temperature. Btw in my Asus AI Tweak, should the Vcore being set manual or offset mode? Thanks |

Btw in my Asus AI Tweak, should the Vcore being set manual or offset mode? Thanks ![]() Every chip has different VID so the so-called ideal vCore doesn't exist at all. Some may need 1.175v, 1.2v, 1.25v,1.3v or even higher etc... And also take not that every motherboard may require different vCore. For instance, the ASRock OC Formula has 0.05-0.06v lower vCore than any Asus ROG mobo due to stronger VRM on the former. Manual voltage will give you a better overclock. The Asus reps recommend manual for high overclocks. |

Here are the 1707 BIOSes modded with the latest Intel RST RAID ROM ( 12.5.0.1815 )
Download Link Change log's biggest fix is: fixed the BIOS not saving quite a few options issue ( stuck multiplier, not applying EIST enable/disable, BCLK applying, etc that started to exhibit itself since 13XX BIOSes and struck most people with 1604 BIOS ) |
