owikh84, any good advice to overclock my i7 3770K?

based on my signature, i tried OC using X.M.P profile since my ripjaws support XMP profile. So I OC to 4.3ghz running 1.075 vcore... Idle temp roughly 42-45 Celsius when push to the max using PRIME95 gets me around 75 Celsius max when H100i fan blast to the max.

Is it setting higher VCORE build hotter temperature for idle mode?

How much performance gain will I get from 4.1Ghz to 4.5ghz?

Is it okay to stress to 100% @ 75c ?

Cause when overclock to 4.1ghz, during intense stress from prime95 achieve roughly 70c

Such as Crysis 3, BF3. Will it show huge improvement? Since I would remain stock on my GTX670 cause is using reference stock cooler

Btw what's the ideal Vcore for running 4.5ghz? cause having it set 1.2v seem to have higher idle temperature. Btw in my Asus AI Tweak, should the Vcore being set manual or offset mode?

I will try push 4.5v below 1.2v cause don't really like so high temperature during idle which is 45celcius

Roger that Going to install push pull Corsair H100i but im short of 8 pcs of long screw. Going down to CBN (Central Bolt & Nuts Sdn Bhd) to find it.

But Corsair SP120 fan so expensive

Buying from U.S. any risk of CUSTOM impose tax on this stuff?

Today test :

i7 3770K OC to 4.2ghz with Vcore max 1.056v

Max temperature is 70celcius. Seems stable.

Wonder can push it to 4.4ghz at 1.1v

i3770K running @ 4.2ghz with 1.056Vcore. Somehow Asus AI monitor seems to be nuts

I have a problem. I can't get pass 4.2ghz even i increase vcore and cpu ratio to 45x.. what's going on?

Sounds like i have to the hard way by opening the cover and get a jumper to short the CLEAR CMOS?

temp on full load via Prime 95 max 82c

Another test.

Had to remove the Storm Filter top air filter to get below 84 Celsius.
