Currently using fixed set mode bro. Anyway, I'm also envying ur chip. handle temperature as well. Not like mine. Even 4.2GHz can hit 80°c vmad.gif

That because i delid. laugh.gif Try use offset, will give better idle temperature if im not mistaken. hmm.gif

Used offset mode before and my cpu run 4.5GHz at 1.24v max on idle but vdroop to 1.16v while running LinX or IBT. Temp around 85 max. For sure, my GFlops also just around 11x max.

Heard fixed mode is better for performance and increase chances of BSOD. Offset mode is the safest mode for newbie. But still, offset mode is very useful to know what's vCore is needed for our chip at selected core speed

Sandy and Ivy didnt need performance ram or oc ram to oc thr cpu. For LinX and IBT I would say ram capacity will affect GFlops instead ram speed. Before this, i just set my cpu load default which Level 1. Just set LinX for stability test not for GFlops test. Might be vdroop my cpu and performance drop as well

Forgot already how much offset vcore i set before sweat.gif

Why not but make sure test ur systrm stability after oc before straight for 24/7 usage. Also please check ur cpu temp not too high for long straight usage. Anything below 100deg celcius is ok then depend on ur cpu speed

Depends on your chip. Most probably you will hit 4.0-4.2 with stock voltage. More than that you need to pump more juice.

The max voltage recommended by Intel is 1.52v, stock voltage is around 1.1v if im not mistaken so its still far away from hitting those max voltage. Im using mine @ 4.6Ghz with 1.39v still safe imo nod.gif. Overclocking IVB is relatively easy. Change multiplier,do some voltage tweak and run stress testing for stability. Read some guide and do post your oc here. thumbup.gif

right now I oc 4.4ghz at 1.26v
Max temp at 86C
It's depend on your room ambient also.
Are you using air conditioner in your room?

If you can manage lower then 95C, that's will be great. rclxms.gif
