Hello all otai.
Base on my siggy, can i push my cpu to 4.5GHz without any prob? Got anybody had tried before OC kaw2 using Hyper 212 Evo?
Thanks

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 8 2012, 10:59 AM) Trial and error. I cant advise on offset & vcore as every chip is different. So if push to 4.5GHz and its temp min 40 and max 85 still consider good for cheapo air cooler like mine?Btw, i cant run my delided 3770K on MVE. Debug code 55, so must put on IHS in order to get rid of the annoying code. Reinstall the waterblock and retention bracket also wont help. Too loosen will give 00 code. It is fine on MVF in which i could run the same CPU nakedly without IHS I think MVE CPU socket is more sensitive to pressure. It just doesnt like naked chip Hehehe |

Kevin, look at this. Any idea how come this can be happen? Or this is normal?

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 9 2012, 12:03 AM) It is normal So I set fixed vcore instead offset to 1.25v for 4.5GHz is good vcore? Didnt try yet for an hour stress test because need to know 1st what vcore is ideal for my chip as well. So far didnt give me BSOD (stress 5min and gaming)That's call a vdroop, load vcore is lower than idle. Depends on what level of Load line calibration LLC, highest level (ASRock is lower) will cause vdrop (load vcore is higher). |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 9 2012, 12:28 AM) arghh forgot that you're using offset so forget about the LLC terms I use just now. LCC level i left for auto and fixed vCore to 1.25v. I read offset mode can easily encounter BSOD. So i make it to the other way, fixed mode.I always use fixed vCore + LLC which would cause vdroop, good to go for 24/7. You will need to test and decide yourself which level of LLC to use. vdrop is only to test how high MHz can your chip achieve, in short term. QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Oct 9 2012, 12:54 AM) I drop a bit the vcore to 1.235v and didnt gave me BSOD while gaming. 1.25v i think quite high for me |

QUOTE(ketapang @ Oct 10 2012, 01:03 AM) Is that the vcore needed to stable your oc? Normally 1.37v should give you around 4.6~4.7Ghz, unless you get a bad chip which needed that kind of vcore to be stable @ 4.5Ghz. Ketapang, how much ur vCore needed to stable ur 3570k oc @4.3GHz? Mind to post idle and 100% load temp? |

QUOTE(ketapang @ Oct 10 2012, 01:16 AM) Sorry bro im not @ home right now, next week then be going back. Since u are owner same mobo and cpu like me, wanna know ur oc setting then But i do have this: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=51321928 4.2Ghz @ 1.19v. But during this time im still using my old board & cooler. For 4.3Ghz, maybe around 1.21~1.24 i think. Cant really remember. Added on October 10, 2012, 1:21 am Hey bro good to know got friend using same cooler here. Lucky i didnt get MSI Z77A-G43 last time i bought Extreme4 because MSI's mobo cheaper that Ex4 -Edited- Initially this is what i get. QUOTE(ketapang @ Oct 10 2012, 03:48 AM) Im not really familiar with OCCT. Just try for IBT for 3 runs but why my reading Linpack Output average like this?Try use LinX or IBT, give it a quick run to check for instability. 5-10 run should be okay. Usually if your oc not stable, 1-3 run already crash/bsod. Don't forget to change the stress level to maximum. I prefer those 2 cos its really stress your cpu, faster in detecting instability. But it does give +-10c higher temp compare to prime95. For 24/7 oc, i usually left my rig overnight running prime95. Times = 277secs Speed = 64 GFLops Result = 4.xxxxxxe-002 Looks like slower speed then yours On load, vDroop to 1.16v and didnt crash/BSOD my cpu. QUOTE(ketapang @ Oct 10 2012, 03:10 PM) Last time i also suffer low gflops, but it seems to be solved after restart and change the ram speed. Yes..using latest IBT but currently oustation now. Will try stress my 3570k @ 4.5GHz on Sunday. So vDroop didnt decrease my cpu performance? |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 10 2012, 04:35 PM) I believe yoi are using an old version of IBT which doesnt have AVX instruction. Owikh, this is what i got. But still, under 100GFlops As suggested by ketapang please use the latest LinX in post #1. Then you should get 100+ GFlops, regardless of any RAM speed. Good luck! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 13 2012, 08:48 AM) You are not using the latest LinX 0.64 (11.0.0.004). I can see it from the title bar, latest one should have "Simply Linpack" Already using LinX 0.64 (11.0.0.004) and i noticed that didnt have AVX edition.[attachmentid=3098093] Download the LinX again from post #1 and make sure that you're running win7 SP1. In LinX, select Memory (MiB) to "All" But it doesnt matter. My cpu running stable 4.6GHz @ 1.275 vCore. Temp min 40 degree and max is 90 degree under Hyper 212 Evo Is that normal for its temp? |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 13 2012, 12:04 PM) Until you found the "Simply Linpack" version, then only you would get 100+ GFlops. The temps sound normal. But it's all fake without 100+. Hurm..seems like i've got faked by something bro You should easily hit TJmax with the correct LinX. Already using this (same as u said before) ![]() |
