That's y I'm confused...acutely the  steering handing feedback should b more heavier and stable due in high speed, but not much lighter n sensitive witch makes me lost my confidence in high speed handing specially in cornering...
*
hmm.gif perhaps some electronic steering error? I don't know. usually those were set by speed default to match your steering weight.

Damn, 210km/h  cool2.gif
Btw was it current accord 2.4 generation? How come it could not overtake 2.0 car?  blink.gif
*
as far as I know accord 2.4 current model can hit above 220km/h (need long distance)
Camry previous model can hit about 200km/h

thats all base on owner comment, I nvr drove those car at that speed (cause not my car, And I will try not to hit more than 180 km/h) laugh.gif

What electronic steering? There is no electronic steering in our Optima.

oo so is hydraulic steering? hmm.gif

I wonder if is hydraulic steering got with feature adaptive steering features?
BMW using electronic steering if i not mistaken.
perhaps the 'adaptive steer' wasn't same like BMW hmm.gif
more or like Merc type suspension and steering will tighten if speed high 100km/h above

Bro, let me make this clear. The Optima does not have any electric or electronic steering or any adaptive function. Its just a normal hydraulic steering.

Is previous version accord. Ya after it passing me only i notiice that is 2.4 accord. Story start from i drive in the fast lane at around 160km/h yesteday from way by Kl to Melaka highway. suddenly i saw a car comes over very fast from behind me, so i step my right leg harder to test my top speed n see that it can surpass me or not. At that moment I speed up above 200km/h++. Properly i keep my speed over 210km/h++ most of time (some part hitting crazy 220km/h above in downhill), distance between us all the way run is around 20 to 30m in around 10min. At that time i think it can overtake me anytime if I low down the speed below 200km/h. After 10min i must force myself to low down the speed n let it overtake me cause I feel so uncomfortable at that speed...the accord driver never slow down the speed even when drives in corner...so as I...I dunno how he's feel but for me my heart feels like steping closer to hell at that time...haha...this happening makes me wonder that the accord handing is much better than my k5...or the driver inside the accord is....salute to that driver...haha

I bought optima k5 on Monday 18june silver colour n was told by salesperson that my vehicle is in storage ready but waiting for Govt approval documentation. I was told today that I can have light graphite colour next week but not sure when silver can be ready even though have silver color units in storage ready but no approval letter. I contacted NazaKia but they are useless n customer care cannot even give estimated date when approval will be obtained. Anybody have any news on this approval documentation? First time buying Korean n from Naza n already problem! rclxub.gif

Worst part is I paid cash for the optima k5. What kind of nonsense is NazaKia subjecting customers to! I bought optima due to test drive n specs! Before drove Honda,Toyota etc. Perhaps Kia needs to rethink about their Malaysia distributor Naza. This nonsense has put me off buying another Kia or Naza vehicle which I was planning to do! rclxub.gif

A delay in getting the car is hardly pressure. If at all it shows how eager u are to get behind the wheel of the car. Despite issues with my car, i have no regrets whatsoever in buying the Optima. Its still a great car overall and value for money. And so far ive seen the good side of Kia's after sales service and i must say its better than Toyota. At least in terms of the warranty claims.

So dont worry. Just be patient. Ure talking about a few weeks of waiting vs about 5-7 yrs of ownership. A no brainer actually. drool.gif

Guys, just to update you on my car. Kia have not really been able to identify the problem but they have agreed to change both the rear shock absorbers FOC under warranty. Ive also complained about the front driver's power window having a 'rough' sound when in motion. They have also agreed to change the entire motor assembly FOC. But the parts have been ordered and will arrive next week. My front foglamps were replaced yesterday. That too FOC.

Not sure if the problem will be resolved but they want to replace the shock absorbers as part of an elimination process. If that doesnt solve the problem, they will take a closer look at the steering assembly. This is the instruction from Naza Kia HQ.

I must say that i am quite impressed with Kia's response to my problems. They acted fast and had no hessitation to make replacements even though it wasnt cheap. If it was Toyota, they would have fought tooth and nail to defend themselves before admitting to any faults. Its good that Kia have a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty program. Surely a plus point.
*
Hmmm...i doubt thats gonna solve the problem bro..
I juz cant understand why the hydraulic steering in the k5 is having the issue. I have driven cars with hydraulic steering's before, but never noticed this issue.
Maybe its gotta do with a combination of the thin tires, suspension or absorbers?? running out of ideas bro...
But i only feel the wobbly nature of the steering at speeds more then 160-170km/h when the road surface gets uneven...

The presure is not the delay, I don't know how to put it in words. My entire family don't support me buying KIA. KIA seriously have very very bad track record (problematic car) for the past few years. Now my family members already pointing at me "See, haven't got the car, problem already started, how are you going to live with the car later on"... this kind of presure..!!!

That is the main reason why I am not happy with NAZA, given the bad track record, NAZA should learn and grap hold of this great opportunity with K5 and push the KIA sales. But NAZA don't give a sh*t about it. Because of that, I tought of giving up already.

Don't give up yet. This AP issue not only happen to Kia. I heard vw also having the same prob. It is the govt issue in a way, but then it makes u feel bad about Kia. Rest assure being a k5 owner, I never for a second regret of getting it, and only gets prouder with the drive day by day.

All the mentality about Toyota and Honda is hard to overcome, but then u must b very convinced to get k5 or else u don't even give a shit on kia. So, give them a bit time, and this is not only a prob Kia is facing. Cheers!

As I've said before in the Kia FB page, this reminds me of last year's Volkswagen Passat CC fiasco where certain quarters (read: competitors) were making complaints to MOF and Customs that they feel the Passat CC's price is sold too low. Customs then wanted to impose an RM30k duty on the car which was insane, particularly when

1) the stocks are in port/some in dealerships
2) cars were committed to customers with sales orders, brochures and other documents clearly stating the selling price
3) the price increase is not going to the company (heads straight to the government) which means P&L of the model is affected.

In the end, after months of delay, VW had to bow to both government pressure and declare a new price (to the loss of the customer since there is NO INCREASE IN SPEC despite the price being jacked up significantly):

http://paultan.org/2011/05/28/volkswagen-p...ase-in-pricing/

As a customer (an angry one too), we just don't give a sh*t about whatever that transpires between Naza and the government and we just want our cars fast but sometimes, we can't always blame the principal for every crap policy we have in our country. I hope Kia and the government can resolve this issue in a manner that's beneficial to all parties soon (and not go the VW route)

No idea IF there's going to be an increase or not. Price increase would create the wrong kind of impression (you can expect lots of people blasting Naza for being greedy, dumb, blah blah blah) and is probably the last resort if all else fails. I hope it won't come to that.

Yes i dont think it will solve the problem. If it was that simple, im sure Kia America would have resolved it or issued a recall by now. And yes the problem is more pronounced at high speeds. but generally the car is quite stable due to its weight. I still have zero regrets in getting the car. I heard about the steering issues before i even booked the car so it isnt something totally unexpected. Plus i noticed this when i test drove the car a number of times.

But my vibrating wipers are a real irritant now.
